This makes me wonder what it would actually take to reverse what happened to Venus. Could some planetary-scale event strip away enough of that massive CO₂ atmosphere to end the runaway greenhouse and eventually let the planet cool again? We talk all the time about terraforming Mars by warming it and building an atmosphere. Venus almost seems like the opposite problem - not how do you build an atmosphere, but how do you get rid of most of one?
