Venus is Hell.

😝Let's learn real physics! "A little closer to the sun" (0.277AU) & Boltzmann's law are all we need to know to explaint the Venus temperature. This explains precisely why at 1bar (at 50km altitude, comparable atmospheric pressure) Venus has 339°K & Earth 288°K. It is nearer to our sun. The temperature doesn't "increase" because of CO2 (some phony greenhouse effect), but is rather dampened. However, this only occurs when plants grow & release water into the atmosphere, or when oceans of water exist. There are none on Venus – meaning that even a CO2 concentration of 97% has no effect on the temperature. Check yourself, if you dare: ➡️

I first learned about Carl Sagan in 1980s from Iosif Shklovsky's 1962 book, "Universe, Life, Mind." A revised and expanded, co-authored with Carl Sagan English version "Intelligent Life in the Universe" was published in 1966. One of the most recent editions was published in 1998.

How we miss Carl Sagan. He could make complex scientific concepts come alive and be understandable to everyone.
