Very hard kick but something to note: I’ve never loved tilting a rugby ball like this. The thinking is that it opens up the “sweet spot” of the ball, for a cleaner strike. But I’d rather have the seam aiming at the middle of the posts. Just me though…

First time picking up a ball this year. My body hurt just standing up and the ball felt like a shot put but I loved every second of it. Hopefully chemo is done and I’ll be starting radiation treatment 🙏

Feel how you wanna feel, but I’ll be damned if this is a ball!! This is one of the best hitters if not the top hitter in the country you shouldn’t have to throw the ball over the heart of the plate to get a strike out. Umpires gotta be better.

Is it really that hard to leave a ball like this? I've always wondered why batters don't leave the ball with the bat positioned right in front of their body so that, even if it edges, the ball just stops there. Why do they leave it so close to the bat instead?

Another example of kickoff. Watch my kids getting AFTER it on their way to the ball. This kicker could go to the endzone 90% of the time. But we had a lot of confidence that we didn't need to just kick it to the endzone, we can put them inside of the 15 a lot of the year.

I hate to nitpick but this 3-run moon ball is kind of a rally killer. Small ball keeps the pressure on and turns the lineup over to the better hitters. Especially this early in the game. I’d like to see Shaw be a better teammate in the future

This could have been the TD to put the game out of reach. Musgrave has a step, but to me, he has to stack the LB rather than continuing to fade to the sideline. Love needs to put that ball outside shoulder, but Musgrave tracks it poorly too. If that's 85, it's a TD.

Pep Guardiola challenges the usual idea of duels. We always talk about duels. Defensive duels. Winning the ball back. But Guardiola asks a different question: What happens when I have the ball and I don’t lose it? When I’m pressed. I protect it. I make one more pass. That is also a duel. A mental duel. A technical duel. A collective duel. Keeping the ball under pressure is winning. That’s what City have been talking about. Not just fighting for the ball — but fighting with the ball.

The first kick of the session There’s nothing better than a swift, hard kick to the balls to set the mood for a brutal CBT/ball busting session 😏

This is a little misleading. Ball is on the right hash. Julian hits McCuin over the middle off play-action, but it isn’t classified as a middle-of-the-field throw because of where the play started. Not sure if there are other examples, but this one I remember.

This looked like an easy fly ball, but it just kept floating. Ernie Clement's 3rd of the season puts the #BlueJays up, 3-1.

At some point when reviewing plays, the league should consider adding a speed threshold for anything involving the element of time. When you slow plays down to 1/100th the speed, it distorts what actually happened and makes it look like, in this case, Cooks possessed the ball for seconds prior to losing it. The game is not played in slow motion or frame by frame. For a catch: A) Secure control of the ball ✅ B) Two feet down in bounds ✅ C) After (a) and (b) have been fulfilled, clearly performs any act common to the game (e.g., extend the ball forward, take an additional step, tuck the ball away and turn upfield, or avoid or ward off an opponent), or he maintains control of the ball long enough to do so. C is where there is a judgement needed since A and B are clearly met. Now consider this note to the rule: If a player, who satisfied (a) and (b), but has not satisfied (c), contacts the ground and loses control of the ball, it is an incomplete pass if the ball hits the ground before he regains control, or if he regains control out of bounds. Because Cooks did lose control of the ball when he contacted the ground and the ball never contacted the ground, it was ruled an interception by Denver.

#OTD 1986 - Mike Laga of the Cardinals became the first player to hit a ball out of Busch Stadium II. It was a foul ball, but still an impressive feat that was never duplicated. #STLCards

Yes, I know the pitch was well into the k-zone already but this is a great example of getting outside anticipated pitch location so your mitt is moving toward middle of the k-zone during reception. Some coaches call it catching the “ball side of the ball.” #thelifeofacatcher

Tua releases the ball at the 43-yard line. Washington catches it at the 42 mark. The ball must go FORWARD for it to be a pass. This is a lateral, which counts as a run. It’s a brutal break for some, but it’s alarming that so many ppl don’t know the rules

In the outfield if you open up to one side of a hard hit ball & the ball is on the opposite side just rotate your head to the ball verses trying to turn your entire body back to the ball. Taking your eyes off the ball briefly & having body control is more efficient than watching the ball all the way & not be in control of your movements.
