No. This presumption is wrong. Abrahamic religions are religions of Book. Hinduism is not a religion. Geeta starts with Sankhya Yoga. Means the path of science. Next it explains Gyana Yoga. Same path which Buddha explained in details. Path of religion finds place in the last chapters. But Krishna puts a rider.

My head spins just by number of branches of the sacred Scripture Tree. How many Hindus know this entire Tree or what's in each of the branches of this vast tree?

Damn, this is so complicated,Hope you can make it into one single book that a common man can understand.The problem is that if you go and tell this to a 10-year-old kid, they will not understand anything.
