This strategy works in the case of fmcg products , apparels and in some extent for mobile products and accessories BUT for automobiles , white goods , capital equipments , pharmaceuticals etc , one needs to have their own manufacturing units .

Marketing a lie is unethical. Cola or cig or shampoo ads make company rich & consumer unhealthy, then treatments finish the vicious cycle. This difference is differently treated by India. It's because of cheap labour, cnc carbon, and exim policies why brands don't manufacturer.
