warning shot would have sufficed

Exactly why I don't go hiking. Nature wants to eat you.

In the end, it seems to me that he shot it (you can see the body). An earlier warning shot would probably have done the trick. If the cat were hunting you, you would never see it coming.

Sometimes I gotta pack just to walk to my chicken coop lol. Glad he was ready just in case.

Easy there kitty

I cant even imagine! That would be a very bad way to go out!

I would definitely need a new pair of underwear 😳🤣🤣

I hunted in the mountains of northern California, upper round South Fork mountain in Humboldt county for years. Sometimes with a friend and sometimes solo. One trip, I found no deer at all, which was odd. Then, the I had a strange feeling something was watching me. The skin stood up on my arms and neck. I knew something was not only watching me, but I had a deep gut feeling. Suddenly I went from being the hunter to feeling like the prey. I don’t know what inside of your body or your brain will indicate to you because it had never happened before like this. I looked behind me and there was a LARGE Mountain lion, that was watching me from behind a tree. It went from being in the crouched, and about ready to pounce position to creeping down a bit more,. I had just enough time to drop by 357 magnum out, which was my side arm at the time. I was starting to aim at the cat when it left at me from about 30 feet away. I had enough time to take one shot which I knew impacted in the chest. Then I took a second shot as it was turning to run away and a third shot instantly, and I clipped its back left leg. That was probably the closest to death I have ever been. That cat, went about 200 yards and collapsed into the bushes on the side of a hill. Never felt that close to death in my life and if it wasn’t for having my Smith & Wesson SideArm, I would not be here writing this as we speak. Those cats are incredibly huge and this one was a well fed female.

Yes, because you really have to watch out for the two legged animals

Yes. Bear mace, taser, and gun.

Definitely, you never know what you will run into

I mean, it did blink. Twice.

@JackDangerLIVE He talks too much.

Why take a video with your left hand while holding a gun in your right with a mountain lion in your sights?

Smart move bringing a handgun to go anywhere.

@USADocumented Warning shot would take the wind out of kitties sails.

sorry simba

Smart move even if you are not in lion country

@1109Patricia It’s so beautiful and majestic.

Should have pew pew it in the paw paw

@USADocumented Also, a good idea to carry beef jerky in your backpack for a snacky snack 👃

Did he put a round in the cat or close by to scare it off?

@1109Patricia Why not just shoot it in the leg

I would have put a round at his feet and see if he understands the danger he is in. If not, you do what you have to do.
