Then he turned to the media. And according to Hanson, they’re not just biased—they’re part of the machine and they’re in shambles. “Then we turn to the media,” he said. “The media is in a fight with the Democratic left now because of the scandal of Joe Biden.” He described a quiet blame game behind the scenes. Democrats were accusing the press of covering up Biden’s mental decline, while journalists were firing back, saying they never had real access to begin with. “The Democratic left is saying, well, you were a journalist. If you thought he was demented or cognitively challenged, why didn’t you report it?” Hanson explained. “But the journalists are saying we couldn’t get close to him. He looked okay for us because you had him in such a guarded environment. In truth, they’re both guilty.” He pointed to the White House briefings as proof. “Do you remember those press conferences by Karine Jean-Pierre?” he asked. “Did anyone ever hear one—one—question on those daily or 3 or 4 times a week press conferences, ‘Ms. Jean-Pierre, is Joe Biden cognitively able to navigate himself to the podium? What is the nature of his cue cards? Have you had a Montreal cognitive assessment of him?’ There was nothing.” In Hanson’s view, it wasn’t just political shielding—it was full cooperation. “It was a combination of the Democratic Party, the Biden insider, and the media.” And something else had shifted. Hanson said that in the absence of real leadership, the press had taken on a new role. “Very quickly, the media has gained a lot of influence and power in the opposition because there is no opposition in the Democratic Party,” he said. Then VDH named the last weapon the media has against Trump: “So in lieu of an alternate agenda, the media has taken it upon themselves to use the only strategy that the Democratic Party can come up with—and that is to attack Donald Trump.”

But for Hanson, the real crisis isn’t just the media or the polls. It’s the vacuum inside the Democratic Party itself. It is a powerless wasteland without any rising talent. “They have boxed themselves in,” he said. “They have no institutional power, no ability to pass legislation, losing the House and the Senate, no presidency, White House, no executive orders.” Even legal victories won’t last, he argued, because “all of the cherry-pick district and circuit judges will be overturned by a largely conservative Supreme Court in lieu of actual power.” With nothing left to govern, you’d expect an alternative—a vision, a plan. But Hanson said there is none. “Maybe the alternative is a 1994 Newt Gingrich contract with America,” he said. “An alternate agenda? Yes, we can do better on the border than you can. Yes, we have a better foreign policy with Iran.” But when he looked for that, he saw only emptiness. “There’s nothing. There’s no shadow government. There’s not a young Bill Clinton ascendant. There’s no young Barack. There’s nobody.” “There’s no leaders. There’s no agenda. Nothing.” “It’s nihilism.”

And then he asked the final question that blows the whole thing apart. What exactly are Democrats trying to go back to? “Do they have a good old days?” he asked. “Can they say Donald Trump ruined things? They were so good under Biden. The border, we liked it open. 12 million, we could have got 20 million illegal aliens. Let’s go back to that. We had a wonderful retreat from Afghanistan! Picture perfect. We can do it again.” He kept going. “The theater war in Ukraine and Iran—that wasn’t our fault. Maybe it was inevitable. We had a really good inflation. We had a little hyperinflation of 9%.” And then came the conclusion—the part that stuck. “There is no alternative good old days. They can’t say Donald Trump wrecked something because they had wrecked the country.” So what’s left? The final petty card the Democrats have in their pockets. “We’re left with Donald Trump wore a blue suit at the Vatican funeral. Donald Trump is a fascist. No. According to Governor Pritzker, he a Nazi. No. According to Al Gore, he is a Nazi.” “No, according to members of the Congress, is he deserving a polite conversation when you have to use the F-word? Or maybe it’s the S-H-I word.” No glory days. No leadership. No credibility. Just name-calling—and it will continue to remain powerless.

Victor Davis Hanson: The ‘Egregious’ Pollsters’ Bias Against Trump, Explained Mainstream media would have you believe that Trump’s first 100 days were a failure—despite securing the border and strong economic gains. Victor Davis Hanson breaks down the polling regarding Donald Trump’s early 2025 presidency on today’s edition of “Victor Davis Hanson: In His Own Words,” and asks the question: Were pollsters reflecting public opinion, or manipulating it? “There were analyses after each of the 2016, the 2020, and the 2024 elections about the accuracy of polls, post facto, of the election. And we learned that they were way off in 2016. They said they had learned their lessons. “They were way off in 2020. They said they learned their lesson. And they were way off in 2024. And why are they way off? Because liberal pollsters—and that's the majority of people who do these surveys—believe that if they create artificial leads for their Democratic candidates, it creates greater fundraising and momentum. “ If you look at the polls that were the most accurate—Mark Penn was very accurate. He's a Democratic pollster. But especially, the Rasmussen Reports and InsiderAdvantage Polling and The Trafalgar Group… They have Trump ahead by anywhere from two to three points after 100 days.” 00:00 Introduction: Pollsters' Bias in Trump's First 100 Days 01:15 Economic Success vs. Negative Headlines 01:53 Manipulation Tactics in Polling 02:29 Inaccuracies in Polling Over the Years 03:21 The Most Egregious Polls 04:17 Revealing the Truth Behind Polls 05:07 Accurate Polls and Media Bias 06:18 Conclusion and Call to Action 👉Don’t miss out on Victor’s latest videos by subscribing to The Daily Signal today. Victor Davis Hanson draws an uncanny comparison between President Trump and Winston Churchill — two leaders warning about a growing threat while the world refuses to listen. Hanson said that for 47 years, every U.S. president promised to deal with Iran, but Trump is the first one to actually do it. HANSON: “In 1939 Churchill had warned everybody about the threat of fascism on the continent…nobody listened to him.” “Then after the war broke out, nobody called on him and then finally he came in and from May 10th of 1940 he was saying to everybody, these people want to take over the continent.” “He was the voice in the wilderness.” “That’s what Trump is trying to do, trying to say to the American Democratic party, what’s left of it, you don’t understand what’s going on here.” “You Europeans don’t understand, you people in the Middle East don’t fully understand what this regime is about.” “When people say we did not have an imminent threat, we didn’t have an imminent threat when they took our hostages, when they blew up our barracks.” “Nobody said we better attack Iran because we need an imminent threat when they blew up our embassy, they always acted spontaneously with surprises and we never knew what they were going to do.” “The idea you have to have a telegraphed imminent threat, it’s not the nature of that regime.” “It’s lying, disguise and dissimulation. That’s their pattern for the last 47 years.” “But nobody’s taken them seriously.” “Every president’s said we’re going to deal with this, all seven of them and all seven did not.” “And then all seven of them when they got out of office said I regret that I didn’t” “He’s the first one that warned the world and said he’s not going to be one of those presidents.”

Victor Davis Hanson on Megyn Kelly’s Sudden Anti-Israel Transformation! The audacity of Kelly to pretend she is the protector of Erka Kirk is just farcical on its face. Kelly does not have "the human inside" she claims to posses. Megyn Kelly said “Israel’s a cancer”—language Pastor Holthaus noted is exactly the same verbiage used by Hitler." Pastor Brandon Holthaus, who leads a prophetic teaching ministry focused on exposing the truth of Bible prophecy, recently interviewed historian and commentator Victor Davis Hanson. Holthaus opened the conversation by expressing his belief that God has raised Hanson up as a voice of reason during these times, noting that Hanson is one of the few prominent figures who has not “went crazy.” Hanson shared his personal knowledge of several well-known conservative voices and his shock at their apparent transformation. He stated that he knew Tucker Carlson very well, having appeared on his show every Monday night and known him for 20 years. He expressed disbelief at what Carlson has become. Hanson also recounted meeting Megyn Kelly in Bakersfield after she called and asked him to appear on her show for no compensation. He described her at the time as “normal.” He further noted having dinner with Candace Owens and her husband, meeting Steve Bannon for dinner at LAX, and encountering Marjorie Taylor Greene when she was a “fanatic Trump supporter.” Holthaus voiced his bewilderment at the antisemitism and hostility toward Israel now displayed by these figures, saying he was “dumbfounded by it.” Victor Davis Hanson agreed and offered an explanation for the changes. He stated, “I think part of the problem was they all got very close to Trump. Very close. They were riding on Air Force One. They were in Mar-a-Lago every weekend. They had they called him up all the time and they felt they were important people. And so when he went in to get rid of the Iranian nuclear thing, they didn’t like it.” Hanson continued: “So they said, ‘How dare you do this? You got to listen to me.’ And he said, ‘I’m not going to listen to you.’ And they got very angry. They said, ‘We’re important people. We have the president’s ear. We tell them what to do.’ And they never realized that a thousand people say that and they’re not that important. And they got very, very angry. It was all about their ego and now it’s about clicks and things that the more outrageous they sound most of them have huge audiences from the Middle East and from Europe because of the antisemitism and pro-Muslim stuff.” Hanson then focused specifically on Megyn Kelly. He recalled appearing on her show regularly, including after the June bombing of Iranian nuclear facilities. At that time, he said, Kelly gave “a very eloquent explanation of why this was not contrary to MAGA doctrine, why you had to stop these lunatics from getting the bomb and why we had to protect our allies like Israel.” Holthaus contrasted that earlier stance with Kelly’s later appearance on the Shawn Ryan show, where she reportedly said “Israel’s a cancer”—language he noted is exactly the same verbiage used by Hitler. He observed that such tropes about Israel being “a cancer” are being repeated. While taking the matter very seriously, Hanson said he does not view the radical shift as fully authentic. He pointed out that he had been on her show every three weeks and found the change “too quick, it’s too quick and too sudden.” Hanson further highlighted the contrast by referencing one of Kelly’s earlier speeches, which he described as “one of the most vivid candid criticisms of Islam I’ve ever heard,” and juxtaposed it against her more recent comments.

Hanson also questioned Mamdani’s personal credibility, describing a pattern that, to him, reveals something deeper about the candidate’s approach to politics. He EXPOSED Mamdani for trying to claim African American identity on college applications to gain an edge, despite having no connection to that experience. “He's very, sensitive about the African-American and Latino vote, which I don't think he's going to win,” Hanson noted. “But now we learned that when he applied to college, to Bowdoin, and I think further to graduate school—in which he was not admitted, he claimed that he was an African American.” It wasn’t just a one-off misrepresentation, Hanson suggested, but part of a larger disconnect between public messaging and private behavior. It was, in Hanson’s view, part of a pattern he’d seen many times in academia. “As someone who was in academia for three decades, I used to have students that were from North Africa, Egypt or Morocco or Algeria, but were not African American. That is, they were not Blacks, and they tried that trick and they were not successful. Neither was Mamdani.” What bothered him most wasn’t just the strategy but the hypocrisy of someone willing to lecture Americans about inequality while privately trying to benefit from the very system he criticizes. “But imagine he's giving lectures, moral lectures, sanctimonious lectures, self-righteous lectures about how unequal the United States is,” he continued. “And then yet he tries to mimic or pass on a Elizabeth Warren or Ward Churchill-like fraud that he's African American, that he's a Black African, just because his parents who were Indian and immigrants to Uganda, and were one of the 1% elite in that country—he's now claiming that he should he should have had special—I shouldn't say he's now claiming, he claimed that he should have had special preference in admissions because he was Black.”

Trump, visibly moved by the defense of the troops, stepped back in to close the loop and he didn’t hold back. Referring to NBC and their network’s coverage, he called them “real scum.” But what seemed to bother him more wasn’t the media’s treatment of him, it was what he saw as disrespect to the brave American men and women who carried out the mission. “The report said what it said, and it was fine. It was severe, they think, but they had no idea,” Trump said. “They shouldn’t have issued a report until they did. But we’ve gotten the information. And I think Pete said it better than you can say it.” Turning directly to O’Donnell, he continued, “You should be proud. You, especially you, should be proud of those pilots. And you shouldn’t be trying to demean them.” “These pilots flew at great risk,” he said, his voice steady. “There was a big chance they’d never come home to see their husbands or wives.” Then he let the media have it with both barrels. “Let me just tell you—you and NBC fake news, which is one of the worst, and CNN, New York Times—they’re all bad. They’re sick. There’s something wrong with them.” He said he received a call from Missouri, from those directly involved in the mission, describing how devastated they were to see their sacrifice minimized in the media. “They put their lives on the line and then they have real scum come out and write reports that are as negative as they could possibly be.” “It should be the opposite,” Trump said. “You should make them heroes and heroines. It’s a shame.” American strength was on exhibit in The Hague, and everyone, including the media, was now officially on notice.
