First off great throw from the right fielder. But it’s beyond obvious he never got the tag on him. Most telling reason is him immediately going to put the tag back on his knee after swiping wildly and missing. Ump is right on top of it and misses it. Ok, at least that’s why we have replay. Replay also gets it wrong. Home plate ump then gets the announcement of the incorrect call, incorrect. Bad all the way around. Failed at every aspect of the execution of that play/call. And did it in a tie game in an elimination game. Pathetic.

NEW: Body cam footage shows police officer shooting and killing a man in his own home after the officer saw the man holding a shotgun. 44-year-old Trinidad Ledesma was killed after police responded to a domestic dispute call. The Surprise (Arizona) Police officer entered the home after the man's presumed partner opened the door and said "he's trying to hit me." When the police turned the corner, Ledesma could be heard saying: "Don’t come in. Don’t come near, boss." The officer then saw a "black shotgun" in his right hand and immediately shot and killed him. During the incident, the officer called it an AR-15. The officer claims Ledesma started moving the barrel in his direction which is why he shot. Maricopa County Attorney’s Office has opened an investigation into the incident.

Quite frankly I've had enough of the Naz slander on here. He fell off the cliff after leaving the Ingles. The writing was on the wall long before Barrera. Facts, Cortez was considering stopping him against Paul Ingle for taking too many shots, was garbage against Soto and his power and chin was bailing him out in other fights. Naz was an instinct fighter and Oscar Suarez was coaching that out him trying to turn him more conventional. Good trainer Suarez, bad fit for Naz though. 50-60% of the fighter he was at 21-22 by the time he got to Barrera. Hamed was an animal at his best

As of 2023, the property formerly known as Zorro Ranch (now referred to as Rancho de San Rafael), a large estate in Santa Fe County, New Mexico, once owned by Jeffrey Epstein, was purchased by a limited liability company tied to the family of Don Huffines. Public records show that the Huffines family bought the ranch at a public auction after Epstein’s death. Interesting fact: In 2025, state legislators in New Mexico pushed for an inquiry into the Zorro Ranch and Epstein's activities there. In 2026, the New Mexico Legislature's House prepared an investigatory committee. It has not held a hearing yet. This does not mean that Don or his family are guilty of anything. They are very wealthy and regularly purchase land. In recently released federal documents, an anonymous email from 2019 surfaced that allegedly came from someone claiming to have worked at Epstein’s ranch. Plain and simple: Marcus Blaze is ready to win an NCAA title year one. If he will do it is another question, but he will be very tough to beat. Here you see Marcus earn a resounding win over the great Brock Hardy, an NCAA Finalist for Nebraska at 141. Blaze projects in the near-term at 133 for the next year. There's a pretty clear size disparity here between the two, but it didn't play a factor. Though this is freestyle, his game will translate to Folk just fine. His pristine head/hands defense will keep many of the best off his legs. His defense feeds right into his offense where he times his leg attacks extremely well. The questions will surround his mat wrestling. While no weakness has really been revealed, his ability to turn from top or get away from the elite riders does remain to be seen. Going to be a fun year at 133!

After he was arrested in Dallas on May 30 for allegedly driving without a valid license, possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a firearm, a suspect in Texas decided to take the police wheel into his own hands. The incident happened after the suspect secretly removed his left hand from his handcuffs. When officers began driving to jail, the suspect attempted to open the squad car's rear door, prompting the officers to get out of the car, and eventually climbed into the driver’s seat and took off. One of the officers managed to jump into the backseat of the vehicle. That officer then attempted to stop the suspect by tasing him and striking him on the side of the head with his firearm. The suspect opened the driver’s side door and jumped out after driving what police said was a distance of about 1,000 feet. At that point, the police officer was able to regain control of the patrol car, and the suspect was given medical assistance before being taken back into custody, where he faces numerous charges.

JUST IN: Man Fatally Hits Head After Being Punched by Baltimore County Police Officer The Maryland Attorney General has released footage showing the February 16 confrontation between a Baltimore County police officer and 56-year-old Samuel ‘Big Sam’ Brown. A welfare check was requested after a concerned citizen noticed a vehicle idling at a traffic light for an extended time. The footage begins with Brown speaking to the officer and later shows Brown exiting his vehicle. Brown then swipes at the officer’s hand while being instructed to return to his car. After a second swipe, the officer punches Brown, who falls and strikes his head. He was transported to a hospital, where he remained on life support for days before dying on February 27. Family and friends had pushed for the video’s release to better understand the incident. The investigation is ongoing.

I recently discovered Victor Davis Hanson wrote a historical novel about his favorite classical hero (03:13), Epaminondas of Thebes. (We recorded this shortly before his recent surgery). One of my favorite memories of my year teaching Classics at Cal State Fresno was visiting Victor at his family farm with a colleague. Many people don't realize this, but he's an extremely generous guy, gracious host, fights hard for his friends, and is beloved by the locals. Also, he loves America and wants to see us rebound. In this interview, we talked about Thebes, a less discussed but fascinating classical Greek city which made a brief play for supremacy, after the decline of Athens and Sparta (6:40). Its hopes were crushed by Alexander the Great when he sacked it and sold its people into slavery (26:45). Towards the end, we discuss lessons for contemporary USA, Ukraine and more (44:10). Looking forward to seeing VDH get back in the saddle soon.
