Victorian Governor gets booed for doing another acknowledgment of country/ Aboriginal people after the Welcome to country. How many acknowledgments do they need? She also acknowledges Aboriginal Mark Brown first before the 99% White Anglo ANZAC soldiers. If we are acknowledging racial groups, why not acknowledge the 99% White...

Last year, an Aboriginal ‘welcome to country’ at an ANZAC Day dawn service was booed. This year, there are calls to ensure the booing won’t be needed again. The issue is simple. A Welcome to Country frames Australians as guests on their own soil. It is said to be targeted to other ‘Aboriginal nations’ but that is negligible compared to the White guilt it so obviously tries to invoke while contest the sovereignty of Australia. That runs directly against the spirit of ANZAC. The men who served did not fight believing they were guests anywhere on this continent; they fought knowing it was theirs to defend. To imply otherwise, on the most solemn day of national remembrance, is disrespectful. Some will point out that a small number of ANZACs had Indigenous ancestry. That is true. But they made up a tiny fraction of the force, on the order of roughly 99.7–99.8% being of European origin, and the presence of some White passing indigenous does not redefine the purpose of the war effort. Australia fought as a nation for itself, not as a collection of separate nations within its borders (note also Australia at the time had the White Australia Policy). It is also a fact that Indigenous Australians were restricted from enlisting for much of the First World War, and some who did serve did so by concealing their background. Even after the war, many were denied equal treatment, including exclusion from the Returned and Services League, which supported the White Australia policy deep until the 70s. Others argue that booing is inappropriate, but the counterview is that introducing White guilt into a solemn national ceremony invites that reaction, at the very least. The conclusion is straightforward. A Welcome to Country does not belong at a dawn service, its existence is debated elsewhere, but to impose it and its modern political framing onto a moment that is meant to honour the ANZACs... The backlash is a direct response to that imposition.

I want to say something clearly, because Australians deserve honesty and respect. At ANZAC Day services across the country, some booed the Welcome to Country. I don’t support that. ANZAC Day should never be disrupted. It’s a sacred day to honour the men and women who gave everything for our country. But I do understand why people are fed up. We said no to The Voice. Yet everywhere we turn, this divisive political agenda is still being pushed down our throats at every ceremony, every event, every time we come together as Australians. People have every right to be angry at the division being forced on them. What I will not accept is the media and politicians attacking everyday Aussies who have had enough. They’re lining up to smear anyone who expresses frustration as a “racist” or a “neo-Nazi.” That is disgraceful. Let me remind you, protesters also shouted “Free Palestine” at an ANZAC Day service today. That barely got a mention. Why? Because the outrage is selective. Those hurling slurs are not interested in respect or unity. They are pushing a political narrative and trying to intimidate good people into silence. Here’s the truth: most Australians are proud of this country. They are not racists. They are not extremists. They are simply sick of being talked down to, insulted, divided, and told they live on “stolen land.” And they are sick of being told to stay quiet. This country belongs to all of us. Whether you were born here or chose to make Australia home, you are part of this nation. It’s time we started acting like it. To the decent Australians out there feeling angry, unheard, and insulted by the media and the political class, I hear you. You have every right to feel frustrated at this constant division, and I stand with you. And I’ll keep fighting to stop the division and to unite Australia as one nation. One note: I misspoke in the video when I said I don't support protests. What I meant was, I don’t support protests at solemn events like ANZAC Day.

This divisive Welcome to Country nonsense has been allowed to fester for far too long. Australians are now being told Welcomes to Country had been performed for 250 thousand years and weren’t invented to cater to white people. If they’re not to cater to white people, then why are white people constantly subjected to them? These welcomes are based on a lie: that Australia is not our home. So many people tell me they are just over it. Welcome to Country performances are just racial antagonism disguised as reconciliation, imposed on children before they even get to school. Australia is home to all Australians, and we don’t need or want to be welcomed to our own home. We have shed blood, sweat and tears to build our home, and defend our home. We have as much right to live in our home as anyone else. If you hand over my home to someone else, I have nothing to fight for. If you hand over Australia, I will not defend it and neither will my children. Being an elder doesn’t obligate my respect – respect is earned, not given away to racial exceptionalism. Being aboriginal does not make someone exceptional. Being an Australian is what makes you exceptional. That’s the identity we all share. In this spirit, I stand and turn my back on Welcome to Country performances in Parliament and in public. It’s a shame that so many other political leaders are too gutless to follow the same principle, desperate not to lose votes to the radical left. I strongly encourage other Australians to do the same. Stop being walked over, and stand up for your home.
