Go Dan! These so called journalists are there to try and get a gotcha for their bulletin. They’re a bunch of time wasters who never have the audience in mind. It’s all about them. And Dan’s press pack are the worst. And they’re infamous for it. People in other states talk about it.

Mum and dad investors also have the benefit of negative gearing, paid for by mum and dad taxpayers

Whoever this reporter is, should take a look at NYC, they’ve now made short term rentals under 30days illegal. 7.5% levy is a compromise for the rental crisis

@Nan88151402 7.5% is too small. Half of rentals have been sequestered out of the long term rental market by short-stay rental providers. Virtually our entire housing crisis has been created by short-stay rentals sitting empty the majority of the time.

The problem is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

“Mum & dad Victorians who want to rent it out & earn a bit of extra cash” Here we go again - labelling these property investors as “poor mum n dad” who can’t afford to pay mortgage on 3 properties, buy new boat or travel to Europe while enjoying the benefit of negative gearing

@AaronDodd Hardly "heated" but ok. Sadly, that reporter could easily have been from "our" ABC - virtually the entire media industry has adopted the Murdoch-style "gotcha" routine and they just hate it when a premier won't stand for it. Pathetic.

Give us a break SBS! "Defended" against a totally obnoxious reporter, presumably from the Murdoch TAX dodging organisation, Newscorp, that's loathed for its lies & anti-democratic ways around the world. #auspol
