Unpopular Opinion: No football players who were bad tacklers got better at it by tackling big cushy rings

Have they practiced tackling humans?

Bowles said they’ve been physical in practice and that wasn’t the problem.

Have you seen this with your own eyes?

Can you show all Alex’s reps with the tackling ring please 🙏

Wow two weeks into the regular season? What was the off season for🤨🤨🤨

Do you think they went and bought a sled today? Haven’t used it every day for the last two months?

It seriously seems that way

we need a coaching overhaul

Do they teach how to take correct angles?

Perhaps they should practice tackling football players...

He still isn’t breaking down when tackling. Standing straight up.

Tackle ring def getting 5.2 YPC

Wonder if teams are allowed to hire dudes to simply get tackled all afternoon?

Anzalone still going high

Is it just me or does it look like they are all going up too high on tackling donut? They could all get lower which may result in better wrap ups and bringing guys to the ground. Just a thought

What did they do all preseason?

A-happy to see them addressing an obvious major flaw. B- hard to believe that in week3 of an NFL season there's such a need for basic tackling drills.

Haven’t they been tackling since their teens? Doesn’t inspire me.

Bucs practice like a pee wee football team. So they play like one on Sundays

Damn learning plays….do this drill for the next 4 weeks and play cat coverage!!! Then get to the playbook. Take these boys back to 6pm sandlot practice. Sorry son’s of bi…..

Lmao you can just do Analzone all day. And maybe remind him how to tackle low

Ball practice baffles me. I coach wrestling down the street. Wrestling and ball are different. But tackling seems kinda similar. We have never used tools like this. Nothing simulates the real thing like the real thing. Given our performance, seems like we need the real thing

Should start by having these guys try tackling from the waist down instead of the shoulders.

Hope they working on breaking down and wrapping up. Smh

Few months too late

The whole defense needs to stay after practice and work on fundamentals

Good first time doing this

The drill is great. But the execution is awful. We did this same drill at plant. With the donut. And executed it 100x better. @bopuckett

Pad drills are pointless right now. These guys need an Oklahoma drill in the worst way. Or at least a sideline tackling drill with the amount of over pursuits they have committed in that two weeks.

Alex looked like he was about to miss that tackle too

Let’s call up the kids

Can’t wait for the season to start! Oh shit it already did and they are doing shit they should’ve done in July!!!!!!!

I don't see any of them wrapping up with their arms?

Do they usually go back to basic fundamentals like this heading into week 3 of regular season? Or is the staff like, “you guys need to work on the basic stuff.”? I’ve never watched regular season practice , so I don’t know if this is normal.

Why the fuck are they tackling rolling rings…. This shit is a joke.

I wouldn’t call it ‘hitting’ the sled really. Wow, and it barely looks like they’re trying either. 😂
