This raises a serious question: who has been benefiting from salaries meant for these health workers? Nobody should have to travel miles just to see a doctor. For too long, many communities have lived with that frustration, where basic healthcare felt out of reach. We are changing that by building 260 Type 2 Primary Healthcare Centres (PHC) across Enugu, ensuring every ward has a modern health facility close to home, FREE OF CHARGE for our people, and supported by a digital system that keeps patient records safe and accessible. Each centre will run with 24-hour solar power and running water, with 3,380 beds across the state, at least 13 per facility. To support our frontline workers, 2-bedroom apartments are being built at every PHC, because when healthcare workers are well supported, patients receive better care. In these last moments, we have a responsibility to face the reality of what is happening in the spiritual realm and that can be heavy sometimes. It’s isolating having spiritual eyes- having to partake in a world that you are detached from. A world that you see the truth of. A world that doesn’t see what you do. And it’s ok to talk about it. But some in the church are avoiding this. Some are sticking their heads in the sand and ignoring the fact that we are even in the end times… to a point where when people talk about the heaviness, they feel like we’re saying we have given up. Church, let’s please start answering this call to be REAL. To face the reality of what is happening-of the times we are in. Yes there is a heaviness that comes with that, but having eyes to see will always motivate us to share Jesus even more because we know we are at the end.

We are not okay, and that’s okay to say. I wish I could tell you that we are standing here and that the rest of the world is standing with us. With you. Sadly I can’t say that. There is a loud and aggressive minority around the world who doesn’t get, that being murdered at a peace festival does not equal resistance. I do however, know that we are standing here on behalf of all those people in the world, with moral clarity. And there are a lot of them. And there are many who want to be here with you. And they are here with you at heart. On October 7th, your loved ones went to Nova. We call it a peace music festival because that’s what it was—a place to make new friends, to let loos explore and celebrate life. And this juxtaposition hurts the most —because on that day, the light your loved ones were, was met with the most unimaginable darkness. Our lives will never be the same. But today, as we remember them, we also make a promise: to honor their memory by living as they would have. As we stand here in grief, we have a message to the world: we will not be defeated. About a year and a half ago, I stood at this exact location, the Sleep Inn in Sheepshead Bay, demanding answers from the city when it was being used as a migrant shelter. Fast forward to today: the site is now being used as a homeless shelter, and once again, there has been zero transparency. No notice to my office. No outreach to the community. No answers. That’s why I came back. And that’s why I’ve formally sent a letter to DHS demanding full transparency. We are asking simple, reasonable questions: What is this site being used for? What is the long-term plan? How many people are being housed here? Why has the community been kept in the dark, again? And how many sites like this is the city hiding from us in Southern Brooklyn? This is a residential neighborhood. People deserve to know what’s happening where they live. I will keep pushing until we get answers.
