Jawar Mohammed, an Oromo opposition figure, said on his post on X that OLA fighters had captured multiple security outposts in the Shewa and Arsi zones in recent weeks. He claimed that hundreds of militia members and police officers had been killed during that period. Among the incidents he cited were the reported deaths of 73 militia and police officers in the Shanan Haben area last week, and 23 in the Marti district of Arsi Zone. Further casualties were reported in West Shewa Zone. On 26 February, 16 militia members, including a kebele administrator, were said to have been killed in Winee Roge village in Gindeberet District. Eight (8) more were reportedly killed the same day in Qarre Dobi kebele, also in Gindeberet, while five (5) militia members were said to have died in Chobi District on 25 February.
