Waking up in the Swamp Orc camp, we received an invitation from the chief to witness one of their traditional forms of entertainment — mud wrestling. This is how the Swamp Orcs have settled their disputes for generations. No long arguments — just strength, skill, and mud. An interesting tradition. ⚔️

Sean Brady reflects on the experience of wrestling Jordan Burroughs at RAF 12: “I have no traditional wrestling background... It was a win-win for me, man. Wrestling Jordan Burroughs, making money while I’m waiting for my next fight, it couldn’t have gone any better. It was just an amazing learning experience for me to take myself out of the sport of mixed martial arts, where we do so many different things well, but we don’t do anything at the highest of the high level. We’re the only guys who are humble enough to go and chase these other endeavors. Jordan was super cool. The wrestling community, they’re amazing. It’s so much different than MMA. They’re so nice."

This video is the perfect example of how some people’s view on wrestling is just wrong. A match always has a story, it may not always have a program attached to it but it’s not the same thing. Wrestling is a performative art, wrestlers tell a story through the match.

Ancient Italian football, famously known as Calcio Storico Fiorentino, is a brutal, traditional team sport combining rugby, soccer, and wrestling. Originating in 16th-century Florence with roots in Roman military games like harpastum, it features two teams of 27 players clashing on a sand-covered piazza. Punching, tackling, wrestling, and headbutting are fully allowed, though sucker punches and kicks to the head are banned. Objective: Score a caccia (goal) by getting the ball into the opponent's net running the entire width of the field's end 🇮🇹👊

Everything has been thought of for tonight's match Iowa visiting OSU Cowboy Wrestling on ESPN at 6:00 ET. The feel is supposed to feel like the NCAA finals: long walk out, DJ, smoke, flashing lights, etc. It's not just wrestling, it's going to be a fan experience. I'm all for it!

VIDEO: Spectators cheer as grimacing competitors battle it out using just their middle fingers at Germany’s finger wrestling championships in the southern village of Pflugdorf-Stadl. Opponents hook fingers through a small leather loop and try to pull each other across the table in a traditional Alpine sport popular in Bavaria and Austria. “It’s excruciating. The pain in the fingers,” says competitor Ferdinand Seitz.

🇮🇳This is Shiva Keshavan, India's trailblazing Winter Olympian.⁣ ⁣ India may not have won a medal at the Winter Olympics... yet... but they have some pioneering athletes.⁣ ⁣ Shiva is one of them. At just 16 years old, he became the youngest male Olympic athlete to compete in luge, a super fast-paced downhill race on a tiny sled, with no brakes. ⁣ ⁣ But, as the BBC's Ella Hubber has been finding out, his journey was far from easy.⁣ ⁣ Without any luge infrastructure in India, Shiva decided to take up the sport using makeshift tracks and sleds built in his garage.⁣ ⁣ His parents were able to scrape together the funds to send him to his first Winter Olympics at Nagano, Japan, in 1998, where he was India's only athlete.⁣ ⁣ Shiva went on to compete at another five Olympics but never made it onto the podium. But it is his decades of determination, courage and incredible speed that make him stand out as a true Olympian. The struggles of Indian athletes during Congress times! They never supported Indian athletes!
