So, UPA Govt, in office from 2004 to 2014, was responsible for the acquisition of this aircraft through Air India before the airline’s privatization in 2022. 25 yrs Contract for maintenance & ground work operations to Turkish Firm Celebi was also given by CONgress led UPA Govt in 2008 in spite of the fact that Turkey was never Bharat's ally or friendly nation.
