This isn't some underground cell, they post their drills, their locations, their whole aesthetic online like they're influencers. The RCMP is watching. "Ignorance is a dangerous thing," responded McMurtry. McMurtry, who also obtained a PhD from the U of Toronto, was forcibly removed from his Abbotsford BC high-school classroom in 2021 when news of a "mass grave" at the Kamloops Indian Residential School broke. McMurtry told his students, based on his knowledge and scholarship, that the school children died from disease and other non-criminal causes. McMurtry, eventually fired from his teaching job for his views, is seen in this video contending that there is an important distinction between death by sickness & death by murder. McMurtry was at TRU in Kamloops on Nov 12 with Frances Widdowson & Dallas Brodie for what Widdowson called "a reckoning" over the claim that the bodies of 215 murdered children are buried in unmarked graves at Kamloops Indian Residential School. The claim is based on GPR data collected in an area of significant previous disturbance. The GPR data has not yet been ground-truthed. Although subjected to sustained verbal abuse as evidenced by this video, the trio reported that they successfully engaged in meaningful dialogue about an important issue in Canadian public life.

A RESIDENTIAL SCHOOL TRUTH: It’s sad how some kids were put in residential schools when res or day schools became mandatory. Also important to know that for decades prior, indigenous kids were enrolled by parents who wanted education for them. Parents like the grandparents of Ellis Ross. The MP, was raised by parents who went to residential school and raised him to be independent, not DEPENDENT on the gov. When he served as Chief Councillor of the Haisla Nation, Ross helped his community become more independent and escape poverty through economic development. Making them less bound by the Indian Act. Aka more free. And that my friends, is a far more caring and effective approach to helping indigenous Canadians than BC’s socialist NDP’s never ending reconciliation & oppression agenda.

We saw it on Sunday, when masked white nationalists showed up on Tkʼemlúps te Secwépemc land to frighten people in their own homes. We answer intimidation by standing shoulder to shoulder with survivors. That's how we build a stronger B.C., where every child knows they matter.
