And this is exactly what it looks like when a traffic stop becomes an illegal fishing expedition… for immigration status. In this video, ICE agents surround the man’s car, with what appears to be a police vehicle behind him. A masked ICE agent aggressively approaches the passenger window while another ICE agent goes to the driver’s window and demands his ID. ICE agents are federal immigration officers, they aren’t local police… So, why are ICE agents the ones surrounding this car, confronting the people inside, and accusing the driver of a traffic violation… while the cop appears to walk up afterward? If this was actually a traffic stop, why is the cop not initiating and enforcing the traffic violation? The driver asks why he is being stopped. The agent tells him he was “riding that guy’s ass” and claims he was following the vehicle too closely. Except there’s a problem… his dash cam video shows the exact opposite. He was traveling in his lane when another car… coming from a merge lane… pulled directly in front of him. That is the moment ICE agents appear to turn on their lights, since the driver slows down and pulls over. So, he understandably says, “Me? I wasn’t following anybody.” The agent doubles down, claiming he was too close and that he “has to be a car length away.” Then, they demand that both people get out of the vehicle. The passenger is taken by ICE, while another agent asks the driver whether he has any weapons. And then comes the real reason for the stop… “Are you allowed to be here? Are you illegal? Are you allowed to be in this country?” The driver tells them he has his resident card and hands it over. Eventually, they let him go. And THIS is where the constitutional violations become impossible to ignore. The Fourth Amendment protects people from unreasonable searches and seizures. A traffic stop is a seizure, meaning the government needs reasonable suspicion that a traffic violation, or crime, actually occurred. Even during a lawful traffic stop, officers cannot prolong the stop to investigate an unrelated matter without additional reasonable suspicion. So, when the alleged traffic violation turns into demands for identification, orders to exit the vehicle, questions about whether the people in the car are “illegal,” and an immigration-status check… the Fourth Amendment comes into question. And the fact that they eventually let this man go, after determining he was lawfully present, makes this even more disturbing. Because what exactly was the point of stopping him? He clearly wasn’t violating any tailgating law. So this wasn’t a legitimate traffic stop…it was a fabricated pretext to investigate his immigration status. And that is precisely why the Constitution exists. Because the government doesn’t get to say, “We wanted to check who you are, so we made up a reason to stop you.” And ICE does not get a free pass to stop Americans, and legal residents, and demand they prove their citizenship. The government has to follow the law, too.

Instead of going back to their own cars, the agents tell him to “chill”… after they had already illegally detained him and demanded identification. The U.S. citizen then gets out of his car, to record the agents’ license plates, and one of the ICE agents has the audacity to say: “Sir, please don’t interfere with our investigations.” Interfere with what investigation? He WAS the investigation. If they’re letting him leave, then there is nothing left for him to “interfere” with. Recording government agents, in public, is protected by the First Amendment, and they don’t get to invent an “investigation” to discourage someone from filming. And this is becoming a pattern. ICE agents are stopping whoever they want… and demanding papers. But that is not how constitutional rights work. ICE didn’t have reasonable suspicion that he had committed an immigration violation… since he is a U.S. citizen. So, detaining him, and demanding that he identify himself, violates his Fourth Amendment rights. U.S. citizens are not required to prove their citizenship, to any law enforcement, simply because they were stopped and questioned. And that’s what makes these encounters so dangerous. When U.S. citizens refuse to comply with these unlawful demands, we’ve repeatedly seen ICE agents escalate the situation with physical force. Citizens have been shoved, dragged from vehicles, pinned to the ground, and pepper sprayed after refusing unlawful demands, or asserting their constitutional rights. And a right isn’t a right if exercising it means you risk being assaulted by the very government that’s supposed to protect it. This isn’t just about immigration anymore. It’s about whether every American can exercise their constitutional rights without fearing they’ll be met with intimidation, violence, or retaliation from federal agents. If federal agents can stop U.S. citizens, demand they prove who they are without lawful justification, and then escalate when people refuse… Then nobody’s constitutional rights are safe.

🚨This is one of the most disturbing ICE brutality videos I’ve seen in a long time… Another angle of this incident shows ICE agents suddenly rushing protesters outside the Newark ICE Facility, then continuously shoving U.S. citizens toward the wheels of a MOVING TRUCK… until an activist’s LEG is run over. And the most disturbing part? The protesters are not charging the agents… The agents are the ones creating the escalation. And not only that, they are forcing civilians backward toward a MOVING VEHICLE, escalating a situation that was not violent until THEY made it violent. That is reckless, dangerous force. So, let’s go over the obvious constitutional violations happening in this video… 1. First Amendment violations, because Americans have the constitutional right to peacefully protest the government. 2. Fourth Amendment violations, because federal agents cannot use excessive or objectively unreasonable force against nonviolent civilians. 3. Fifth Amendment due process concerns, because the government cannot arbitrarily target, intimidate, or assault citizens exercising protected rights. 4. Federal officers can also face liability under 18 U.S. Code § 242 for depriving people of constitutional rights “under color of law.” When armed federal agents create chaos themselves, then use that chaos to justify violence against civilians, that is an abuse of power. 🚨This is one of the most disturbing ICE brutality videos I’ve seen in a long time… Another angle of this incident shows ICE agents suddenly rushing protesters outside the Newark ICE Facility, then continuously shoving U.S. citizens toward the wheels of a MOVING TRUCK… until an activist’s LEG is run over. And the most disturbing part? The protesters are not charging the agents… The agents are the ones creating the escalation. And not only that, they are forcing civilians backward toward a MOVING VEHICLE, escalating a situation that was not violent until THEY made it violent. That is reckless, dangerous force. So, let’s go over the obvious constitutional violations happening in this video… 1. First Amendment violations, because Americans have the constitutional right to peacefully protest the government. 2. Fourth Amendment violations, because federal agents cannot use excessive or objectively unreasonable force against nonviolent civilians. 3. Fifth Amendment due process concerns, because the government cannot arbitrarily target, intimidate, or assault citizens exercising protected rights. 4. Federal officers can also face liability under 18 U.S. Code § 242 for depriving people of constitutional rights “under color of law.” When armed federal agents create chaos themselves, then use that chaos to justify violence against civilians, that is an abuse of power. Call your representatives. Demand accountability.

🚨BREAKING: ICE agents were caught on video telling a U.S. born citizen that his driver’s license was not proof of citizenship because “anyone can get that.” In the video, the man repeatedly told them he was born in the U.S…. In Atlantic City. He showed them his license. They dismissed it. He showed them ANOTHER form of ID. They STILL kept interrogating him about where he lived, who he lived with, whether Venezuelans lived in his home, who had been in his car, and whether the vehicle was registered to him. All while illegally detaining him in his car. And in the end… The agents admitted they weren’t even looking for the person connected to the car’s registration. So, why was this U.S. citizen stopped, surrounded, and interrogated in the first place? The Fourth Amendment does not disappear because agents “suspect” someone might be undocumented. You do not have to repeatedly prove your citizenship to federal agents because they decided you “look foreign enough” to question. Yet, this keeps happening to U.S. citizens across the country.

And when someone stopped to film it… an ICE agent, in an unmarked vehicle, drove directly toward them, using their vehicle to intimidate them for exercising their constitutional right to record law enforcement. In the video, ICE agents stopped a man walking down the street and demanded he show them his ID. A person driving sees this, stops their car, and begins filming from across the street. Then, another agent, sitting in an unmarked vehicle, on the other side of the street, drives directly toward the person filming, and stops inches from the side of their car. The agents eventually let the U.S. citizen go… get into the vehicle that is still parked inches from the person filming, and then wave at them like this is all some kind of joke… and drive away. The Fourth Amendment protects people from unreasonable seizures. And when armed federal agents stop someone and demand identification, that is not a casual conversation. And the First Amendment protects the right to record government agents performing their duties in public, as long as you are not actually interfering with what they are doing. (Filming from across the street is not interfering) So, when armed federal agents stop someone walking down the street and demand proof of citizenship, while another agent uses a vehicle to intimidate someone documenting it, there are some serious constitutional questions that need to be raised. You should not have to prove you belong, in your own country, to armed government agents. And you should not be intimidated for documenting them. That is what government power without accountability looks like… When the government can violate your rights, and then tell you that your only option is to comply… you no longer live in a free country.

Florida man killed during ICE traffic stop—same day agents were ordered to pause vehicle stops. 28-year-old man was hit by semi-truck. He jumped out of his car and fled on foot—after agents followed him to gas station. ICE claims it was an "encounter"—not a true traffic stop. This is the third death that occurred during a vehicle pursuit in traffic—in just the past week. ICE has supposedly ordered a temporary nationwide pause on most vehicle stops.
