#VIDEO: Texas DPS Finds 17 Illegal Immigrants Smuggled Inside False Compartment, Mississippi Driver Arrested 8/30: A TXDPS Trooper stopped a Lowe’s box truck on US-277 in Kinney County. During the traffic stop, the driver, Megel Cazanna Patterson from Mississippi, consented to a vehicle search. During the search, Troopers discovered... discrepancies inside the cargo area indicating a false compartment. Troopers utilized a breaching tool to gain access to the false compartment resulting in the discovery of 17 illegal immigrants crammed within a 3’ wide compartment. Several illegal immigrants required medical treatment for dehydration. Troopers arrested and charged Patterson with smuggling persons with the likelihood of serious bodily injury or death.
