If Kyler Murray is awarded QB 1, Dan Graziano says he believes “its going to be up to JJ McCarthy” whether he wants to stay as the backup, or move on from Minnesota: “I believe the #Vikings would tell you that in large part is going to be up to JJ McCarthy. How does he handle not winning the job… one of the reasons they brought Kyler Murray in was to see how JJ would handle a little of an adverse situation, handle the competition. They have been happy with how both guys have handled it.” (Via Get Up)

#Vikings QB JJ McCarthy on if he was disappointed when Kyler Murray signed with Minnesota, and if it motivates him: “Then I would be disappointed if the rain fell. That’s out of my control. At the end of the day, I just gotta focus on what I can do to be the best quarterback for this football team… I have a drive that’s been driving me since 5th grade when I decided to be at this level, perform really well at this level, that’s the same drive that’s running through me today.” (Via Vikings mobile app)

#Vikings WR Justin Jefferson takes ownership for JJ McCarthy’s interception on Monday: “JJ wasn't ready for me to be out that soon. That's why the ball was thrown inside of me, where it needed to be outside. So it’s mostly on me, on that play… As a captain of this team, as the best receiver in the league, I got to detail my things better as well.” 🎥: Vikings YouTube

It’s still so fresh, and he’s only going to continue to get better… you hear the term lose the locker room. He had the locker room more than anybody I’ve seen ever.” (Via Green Light with Chris Long)

Justin Jefferson says the QB decisions for the #Vikings this past offseason were “very tough” to make: “You’re looking at Sam, he won us 14 games this previous season, why not bring him back… then you obviously look at Daniel Jones, and seeing the things he has done in NY, he has a freakishly great ability to throw that rock, great spin on that ball… then you hear about the rumors with Aaron Rodgers, obviously that’s a dream to play with one of the best in this game… but you think about what you have right there in front of you, and at that moment… once JJ was the main guy, it was just about pouring into him as much as we can to make sure he was that guy for us.” (NFL on NBC via YouTube)

#Vikings WR Justin Jefferson on the QB situation: “That’s not my decision. I dont care who’s throwing me that ball. That’s not my main priority… that person that’s throwing that ball needs to throw that ball, and lead us to into that big dance at the end of the season. Right now, JJ is my QB. For me, it’s to get him to where we need to go, it starts off right now.” (Via Up & Adams)
