After years of perseverance, faith, and hard work, the Newmarket Muslim community broke ground on a new Islamic Centre. Canada is strongest when people are free to worship openly and safely, without fear and when every family knows they are protected and respected. This Centre will be a welcoming home for prayer, learning, youth, and community life for generations to come. May it always stand as a symbol of faith, peace, and community.

We will never forget our city’s most vulnerable people, who are systemically victims of violence, drug abuse and homelessness. We have to stand up to protect those who cannot defend themselves. Guardian Angels are conducting wellness checks on homeless and emotionally disturbed individuals we encounter. We are providing water to homeless and emotionally disturbed individuals who may be dehydrated and at risk of having an episode. We will be reporting any issues on running trains to the NYPD at stations where they are assigned. Don’t look away from those who are our most vulnerable. We can do better as a city.
