The animation is finally here, with some better upgrades and making a better animation with some details I decided to give. Plus, there's a greenscreen scene that I wanted to experiment but someday I'll explain the whole thing what is wrong that I feel like... bad for it. But, I hope this is worth it to experiment with this animation, and the greenscreen. Which someday in the future, I'll be making better of greenscreen so, stay tune for this. And thank you guys, for your patience and supporting me to make this animation as possible. Small Language Models (SML) are the future of AI. "Small" (SML) instead of "Large" (LLM). These small models are highly specialized models with superhuman abilities on specific tasks. Here are two techniques to build these models: • Spectrum • Model Merging I give you a short introduction in the attached video, but here is a quick summary: Spectrum helps us identify the most relevant layers to solve one specific task. We can ignore everything else and focus on fine-tuning these layers. Using Spectrum, we can fine-tune models in a heartbeat. Model Merging combines multiple models into a unique, much better model than any of the individual input models. You can also combine models specialized in different tasks and get a model with multiple abilities. This is the state of the art of productizing models. It's what Arcee.ai's platform does behind the scenes. Arcee collaborated with me on this post and is sponsoring it. There are three main steps to produce a model for your particular use case: 1. You create a dataset by uploading your data. 2. You train a model. At this step, Arcee uses Spectrum and Model Merging to produce a highly specialized model for your task. 3. You can deploy that model to any environment you want. Three important notes: • Training process is 2x faster and 2x cheaper than regular fine-tuning. • Resultant models are smaller and have higher accuracy. • They create these specialized models from open-source models. Check this site so you can fully appreciate how this works: If you want to fine-tune an open-source model, consider Arcee's platform. This is the state of the art.

Google just proved that bigger isn't always better. Their 308M parameter model is outperforming models 2x its size. Google just released 𝗘𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗱𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗚𝗲𝗺𝗺𝗮, and it's proving that lightweight embedding models can punch way above their weight class. At just 308M parameters (578MB), it's the new state-of-the-art for models under 500M parameters across MTEB multilingual, English, and code benchmarks. But the really impressive part is that it ranks 8th overall on MTEB(Multilingual, v2) - that's 𝟭𝟳 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀 above the second-best sub-500M model, and it's delivering performance 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗱𝗼𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝘀𝗶𝘇𝗲. There are three key parts of their training recipe that sets it apart: 𝟭. 𝗘𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗿-𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 Instead of starting from a decoder-only Gemma 3 model, they first adapted it to encoder-decoder, then used just the encoder. By basing EmbeddingGemma off an LLM that already has world and language understanding, it gives it a stronger starting point. 𝟮. 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲-𝗟𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 They combine three different loss functions, instead of just having one: • Contrastive loss (NCE) with in-batch negatives and hardness weighting • Spread-out regularization to ensure embeddings utilize the full space (for quantization and ANN retrieval) • Embedding matching distillation from Gemini Embedding - not just learning from relevance scores, but directly aligning the embedding space with the teacher model 𝟯. 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 Rather than just averaging checkpoints from the same training run, they use optimization techniques to find multiple specialized training mixtures. Each mixture creates an "expert" model in different domains, and averaging all their parameters creates a final model that's actually better than individual models. Extras: • Matryoshka embeddings supporting 768, 512, 256, and 128 dimensions • Quantization-aware training - maintains quality even at int4 precision • 100+ languages from Gemma 3 pretraining • Exceptional performance on low-resource languages (check their XTREME-UP results) Is it the absolute best embedding model? No - Gemini Embedding still leads overall. But that's not really the point. EmbeddingGemma proves you can achieve state-of-the-art performance in a small package that's actually deployable on-device, in low-latency applications, and in resource-constrained environments. This makes good embeddings accessible for use cases that I'm seeing more and more: offline applications, privacy-sensitive deployments, and high-throughput scenarios where inference cost actually matters. Full paper: Shoutout to the EmbeddingGemma team at Google DeepMind for this awesome open source work 💙 and to Daniel Williams for helping me with this video! 🫶

If you're interested in joining, hit up our Discord and introduce yourself as an animator willing to help out with clean up and colouring! For 2) - Due to the 'pay-per-artist' business model of music distributors, the distribution fees for a 'various artists' album like this is likely to set me back a couple hundred dollars with Tunecore... which feels insane, but is the truth of the industry. All the costs of this project are covered by myself, so if you would like to help ease the financial burden of releasing a cool community project like this then consider dropping some tips/donations/subscriptions to my ko-fi, Patreon or YouTube channel membership. After Under the Stars, The World Outside and Music Box of Fate charity song, doing these kinds of community projects mean so much to me. And for this one, I'm so proud to be able to shine a light on the amazing songwriting in my community, and the incredible art and animation talent in the Hololive community!

three․ws is the 3D AI agent layer of the open web. Anyone can generate a 3D avatar, give it an LLM brain, register it on-chain across multiple blockchains, embed it anywhere, and let it earn and spend money on its own. Agents have embodied WebGL identities that express emotion through morph-target blending, animate, respond to voice, API calls, and datastreams, hold their own wallets, and persist memory. Open source, live today. It starts with generation. Forge turns a text prompt, one to four photos, or a rough sketch into a textured downloadable GLB. Selfies become rigged avatars in about a minute. Quality tiers run from draft to 200k-poly PBR. From there every model can be auto-rigged, restyled, retextured, segmented, embedded, or deployed on-chain. The same engine ships as a REST API, an x402 pay-per-call twin, and a 3D Studio MCP server with 15 tools. The brain runs on IBM Granite via IBM watsonx plus Claude (users may decide which model they prefer), with a structured tool-loop. A multi-LLM mode streams Claude, GPT, Qwen, ModelScope, and Groq side by side. An empathy layer blends emotion from protocol events rather than a state machine. Voice covers cloning, a Voice Lab, real-time ARKit-52 lip-sync, and mic-driven lip-sync. Skills install from IPFS, Arweave, or HTTP, and memory is pinned to IPFS with R2 and Postgres modes. Identity is cross-chain, not Solana only. ERC-8004 contracts (Identity, Reputation, Validation) deploy on any of 15+ EVM chains, alongside a program-free Metaplex Core analog on Solana. Every agent gets a stable ID, owner wallet, EIP-712 delegated signer, IPFS manifest, a cryptographically signed action log, and EIP-7710 delegated permissions for agent-to-agent authorization. While multichain, the THREE token is only available on Solana with no plans to go cross-chain, the team has no plans to endorse or support any other coins. Then the economy. $THREE is the platform's only token and pay-per-use currency, with holder tiers and rewards. x402 powers pay-per-call micropayments in USDC and soon THREE on Solana, with pay-by-name resolution, a Bazaar marketplace, arbitrage, and on-chain skills. All production ready and shipped, ready to be integrated in partnered projects, open-source by default for anyone to adopt. Three ships a Pump.fun intelligence stack. Launch a coin for your agent, score every launch 0 to 100 with the Oracle conviction engine, scan new coins in their first 90 seconds, track smart money against coins that actually graduated, rank traders by provable on-chain record, and watch autonomous agents trade live in the Sniper Arena. The 3D AI Agent world is multiplayer. Every Solana token gets a live deterministic 3D world with peer avatars, chat, emotes, and voxel building thanks to Coin Communities. There is a walkable City, an authoritative Colyseus-backed Walk with AR passthrough, a Club with rigged dancers and micro-tips, friends, presence, and DMs, and an IRL mode that places agents in your real environment, private by physical location. AR is shipped today on WebXR and iOS Quick Look. Robotics is the long-horizon extension. For builders: Scene Studio, Scene Composer, an Animation Studio that sells clips for USDC, a glTF validator, an web component, five widget types, a WYSIWYG embed editor, hosted Launchpad pages, claimable *.threews.sol names, an OAuth 2.1 server, an MCP server with paid tools, published SDKs, and an OpenAPI spec. Listed across IBM, AWS, Alibaba Cloud, BNB Dappbay, the MCP Registry, and Solana Mobile Seeker. Architecture is four layers (viewer, runtime, identity, embed) on a single event bus. The roadmap is four phases: foundations (shipped), selfie-to-avatar engine, agent personalization with voice cloning, the on-chain economy, and an open decentralized inference network where agents pay GPU nodes on-chain for compute. The goal is simple: move AI from centralized SaaS into persistent, ownable, protocol-based entities in a real machine economy, bridging digital entities into the real world. Welcome to the 3D Layer of the Internet. This is three․ws.

HOW HONG KONG PEOPLE PULLED TOGETHER LAST NIGHT More than 40 people were killed in Hong Kong when 7 massive towers went up in flames yesterday. But the way this community pulled together to help the thousands of people affected is really extraordinary. - So many people rushed to give blankets and food to families in shelters that staff had to stop accepting donations. - So many people wanted to donated blood for the injured that clinics had to arrange a queuing system. Hong Kong at its best is a smart, efficient and generous community. Here’s how it unfolded. A passing cyclist spotted flames at a tower block at 2.51 pm yesterday and called the fire service. By 2.56 pm, just five minutes later, the first fire truck arrived at the scene. Evacuation of the buildings started immediately. Housing Department staff went to the scene to work with the building management company to help get people out to safety. By early evening, more than 200 fire engines and about 100 ambulances arrived at the site. Firefighters sent in 26 search and rescue teams to help find anyone still in the buildings. More than 1200 firefighters and ambulance staff worked as a team from yesterday afternoon through the night. More than 1000 police officers also worked all night to get people to safety, reroute the traffic, and set up a family reconnection hotline. An additional first responder unit, called the Auxiliary Medical Service, sent six ambulances and 33 staff to provide on-site treatment for people suffering from smoke inhalation, burns, or shock. The Tai Po District Office opened eight temporary shelters and arranged an instant shuttle bus service to take residents there. It was a popular service – by 9.30pm that evening, about 900 persons were using the shelters. The Civil Aid Service mobilised more than 100 people to help run the shelters. The Hong Kong Red Cross said traumatized people need more than physical help, so they sent people to the shelters to offer emotional support. These elements were all set up in just a few hours yesterday. By dawn this morning, the fire was out completely in four of the seven towers and shrinking in the three others. Today, the Immigration Department announced a special service for residents who had lost their identity cards or travel documents in the fire – they can turn up without an appointment to have new ones made. Here in Hong Kong, we are all mourning the people lost their lives. Since almost everyone here lives in high-rise apartment blocks, this tragedy has really hit home.

Father Alleges Cover-Up in Son’s Tragic Death at MAHE Bengaluru; Police Begin Investigation Bengaluru A grieving father has accused the #Manipal Academy of Higher Education (#MAHE) Bengaluru of concealing the truth behind the death of his son, a second-year engineering student, raising troubling questions about the circumstances of the tragedy. Anjani Kumar Mishra, who traveled from #Ranchi ( #Jharkhand) after receiving the devastating news, said the official account of his son Lakshya Mishra’s death does not match what he witnessed at the hospital and at the site of the incident. According to the family, they were awakened at 3:30 am by a phone call informing them that Lakshya had fallen from the ninth floor of a campus building. Barely half an hour later, another call confirmed that he had succumbed to his injuries. Upon arriving in #Bengaluru, Mr. Mishra inspected both the body and the scene. He claims the evidence raises serious doubts about the narrative of an accidental fall. He pointed out that the window opening at the alleged site was too narrow for a person to slip through unintentionally. “A child couldn’t possibly fall through it,” he said. He further noted that the injuries on his son’s body did not appear consistent with a plunge from nine stories. In addition, he alleged that the blood patterns at the spot where Lakshya was found did not align with the impact expected from such a height. The DCP, North East Division G.K.Mithun Kumar, IPS, confirmed that the family of the deceased has arrived. Based on the complaint filed by the deceased’s father, a case has been registered. The investigation is already underway, and the police team is currently analyzing CCTV footage as part of the inquiry. The distraught father has accused the college administration of withholding the truth. “Manipal isn’t telling the truth. I need your help. I seek justice. I humbly request your support; it would be the ultimate tribute to my son,” he said in an emotional appeal. DCP North East ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ನಗರ ಪೊಲೀಸ್‌ BengaluruCityPolice

1,000 police deployed so Jewish families can safely march at Walk with Israel I spent Sunday on Bathurst Street in Toronto for the annual Walk with Israel — and the scene tells you everything you need to know about the state of this country right now. Bathurst Street is the heart of Toronto's Jewish community. Synagogues, schools, restaurants, shops. Jewish life has been here for a century. It has also, in recent years, become the site of near-weekly antisemitic vandalism, shootings, and arson. Police have largely looked the other way. I was personally arrested here last year for doing journalism by Officer MacDuff, who was back on duty again today. I'm currently suing him and the Toronto Police Force for false arrest. For the third year running, Mayor Olivia Chow, Premier Doug Ford, and Prime Minister Mark Carney all skipped the Walk with Israel. They've done the demographic math. Meanwhile, an estimated 1,000 to 2,000 police were deployed so that Jewish families — kids, grandparents, strollers, dogs — could walk down their own street without being attacked. No other community in this city requires that. A small counter-protest did show up, flying Ayatollah Khamenei flags alongside Palestinian ones. This is not an organic movement. Antisemitic signs were being mass-produced. The organizers are among the estimated 700 Iranian-regime-linked individuals the federal government knows are operating in Canada — and does nothing about. Today, for once, the police actually pushed them back. Mounted officers formed a barrier and moved the protesters away from the march route. It was a very different approach from the concierge service these same activists have received for the past three years. Along the route I spoke with marchers, Rebel fans, and community members, including a local resident who told me he knows the weekly protesters by name and address, and still can't get anyone in authority to act. Ontario Solicitor General Michael Kerzner, who is responsible for policing, has been aware of foreign funding behind these terror-linked organizers since 2023. Nearly three years later: nothing. Our Rebel News billboard truck was on the street all day, rotating messages including our petition at If you're not a citizen and you support terrorism, you should be gone. Simple as that. It was a good day. But it shouldn't take a thousand police just to go for a walk. REPORT by Ezra Levant 🍁🚛:

99% of AI applications are cool-looking demos. Impressive, but don't get fooled by the hype. It takes a lot to build enterprise-grade products that deliver real value. I have at least three weekly conversations with companies that want to use a Large Language Model with their data. The demand is huge! Here is one idea about what you can do to help. The use cases that most of these companies want to solve are similar: They have an extensive knowledge base and want to build a simple application that uses that information to answer questions. In other words, they need help building Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) applications they can use in many different scenarios: 1. To train new employees 2. To help their support team 3. To search old meetings and documents 4. To help with their research However, building these systems is not straightforward. Yes, there's a lot of information online, but there aren't enough people who know how to create solutions that work. Here is the idea: Today, you can build an enterprise-grade RAG application without writing code. A couple of MIT PhDs with 10+ years of experience building AI applications created . It's a no-code platform for building applications using Large Language Models. They are partnering with me on this post. You can use Stack AI to create, test, and deploy an end-to-end production-ready AI system. It's SOC-2, HIPAA, and GDPR compliant and offers SSO, role management, access control, and on-premise deployments. Of course, you can use the platform with any LLM on the market now. It's the whole nine yards for building AI applications. Check them out here: 2023 was about models. 2024 is about the tools using these models to build production-ready applications. That's where I'd start.

The House of Representatives impeached President Donald Trump on December 18, 2019, after a White House whistleblower went public with evidence that Trump abused his powers by withholding military aid to Ukraine in order to dig up dirt on his rival, Joe Biden. In the complaint, the whistleblower claimed to have heard from White House staff that Trump had, on a phone call, directed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to work with his personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, to investigate Joe Biden and Hunter Biden. The whistleblower who triggered the impeachment was a CIA analyst who was first brought into the White House by the Obama administration. Reporting by Drop Site News last year revealed that the CIA analyst relied on reporting by a supposedly independent investigative news organization called the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP), which appears to have effectively operated as an arm of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), which President Trump has just shut down. The CIA whistleblower complaint cited a long report by OCCRP four times. The OCCRP report alleged that two Soviet-born Florida businessmen were “key hidden actors behind a plan” by Trump to investigate the Bidens. According to the story, those two businessmen connected Giuliani to two former Ukrainian prosecutors. The OCCRP story was crucial to the House Democrats’ impeachment claim, which is that Trump dispatched Giuliani as part of a coordinated effort to pressure a foreign country to interfere in the 2020 presidential election, which is why the whistleblower cited it four times. In a 2024 documentary that German television broadcaster NDR made about OCCRP’s dependence on the US government, a USAID official confirmed that USAID approves OCCRP’s “annual work plan” and approves new hires of “key personnel.” NDR initiated and carried out the investigation with French investigative news organization Mediapart, Italian new group Il Fatto Quotidiano, Reporters United in Greece, and Drop Site News in the United States. However, according to a Mediapart story published the same day as the Drop Site News article, NDR censored the broadcast “after US journalist Drew Sullivan, the co-founder and head of the OCCRP, placed pressure on the NDR management and made false accusations against the broadcaster’s journalists involved in the project.” On December 16, Drop Site’s Ryan Grim posted a link on X to the 26-minute-long documentary. “NDR, Germany’s public broadcaster, is facing a censorship scandal and has defended itself by saying it never killed a news report about OCCRP and its State Department funding — b/c no report was ever produced to kill,” said Grim. “That was absurd — and dozens, maybe hundreds, of journalists knew it to be false, and now of course, someone has leaked it.” The journalistic collaboration revealed that OCCRP’s original funding came from the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs of the State Department, and quotes a USAID official who says, “Drew’s just nervous about being linked with law enforcement,” referring to Sullivan. “If people who are going to give you information think you’re just a cop, maybe it’s a problem.” OCCRP does not operate like a normal investigative journalism organization in that its goals appear to include interfering in foreign political matters, including elections, aimed at regime change. Sullivan told NDR that his organization had “probably been responsible for five or six countries changing over from one government to another government… and getting prime ministers indicted or thrown out.” As such, it appears that CIA, USAID, and OCCRP were all involved in the impeachment of President Trump in ways similar to the regime change operations that all three organizations engage in abroad. The difference is that it is highly illegal and even treasonous for CIA, USAID, and its contractors and intermediaries, known as “cut-outs,” to interfere in US politics this way. OCCRP threatened to file a lawsuit against Public in response to questions we sent. “The premise of your article is factually false and defamatory,” wrote Miranda Patrucic, the Editor in Chief of OCCRP, over email. “The claim by Dropsite News and partner media that USAID has control over editorial appointments has been disproven and we suggest you read our response to that.” But neither OCCRP nor anyone else disproved Drop Site’s allegations and Drop Site stands by them. And the evidence does not support OCCRP’s claim of journalistic independence.... Please subscribe now to support Public's award-winning investigative reporting, to read the rest of the article, and to watch the rest of the video!

🚨BREAKING: Statement from the Yemeni Armed Forces regarding the targeting of “Ben Gurion Airport” in occupied Jaffa with a hypersonic ballistic missile that successfully hit its target, and a “vital target” in occupied Ashkelon, along with a renewed warning to international airlines that “Ben Gurion Airport” is not safe Full statement: “In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. The Almighty said: “O you who have believed, if you support Allah, He will support you and plant firmly your feet.” This is the Truth of Allah, the Almighty. In support of the oppressed Palestinian people and their fighters, and in rejection of the crime of genocide being carried out by the zionist enemy against our brothers in the Gaza Strip, the missile force of the Yemeni Armed Forces carried out a military operation targeting “Ben Gurion” Airport in the occupied Yaffa area using a hypersonic ballistic missile, which successfully hit its target by the grace of Allah. The outcomes of the operation were as follows: - The failure of American and “israeli” interception systems to stop the missile. - The flight of more than three million zionists into shelters. - Complete suspension of airport operations for more than an hour. Accordingly, the Yemeni Armed Forces renew their warning to all international airlines to halt their flights to “Ben Gurion” Airport, as it is no longer safe for air navigation. Earlier yesterday evening, the unmanned aerial unit also carried out a military operation targeting a vital site belonging to the “israeli” enemy in the occupied Asqalab area using a drone of the Yaffa type. Yemen — its people, leadership, and army — will, with Allah's help, continue to stand firm and steadfast in the face of American aggression, never abandoning its religious, moral, and humanitarian duty toward the oppressed Palestinian people, regardless of the consequences, until the aggression on Gaza ceases and the siege is lifted. Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best disposer of affairs; the best protector and the best helper. Long live Yemen, free, proud, and independent. Victory to Yemen and to all the free people of the nation. Sana'a — 6th of Dhu al-Qi'dah, 1446 AH Corresponding to May 4, 2025 CE Issued by the Yemeni Armed Forces”

B.C. Parents Guard School Amid Youth’s Alleged Kill List: “We Don’t Want Another Tumbler Ridge” An underreported story is unfolding in Falkland, B.C., where parents are standing watch over their elementary school, children are spending recess indoors, bus locations are changing, tournaments are being cancelled, and some parents are not sending their children to school at all, as a youth behind an alleged kill list has been walking around the school in the mornings. Every morning, a number of parents organize to stand watch over Falkland Elementary School to ensure the safety of their children, as a troubled youth lives across from the school and chooses to walk around school property during drop-off, causing anxiety and stress, especially amid a lack of RCMP presence. “Why are we waiting for something bad to happen for this to be taken seriously?” one parent, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, asked, fearing repercussions for herself or her children. The community says it feels unsupported and does not know whether the young man is getting the help and support he needs from the province, while also calling on the RCMP to have an officer present near the school. “Basically threatening to kill them with box cutters, drink their blood, and take out anybody else that gets in the way,” said a concerned grandmother, Lori-Ann Rohrback, detailing the alleged threats and questioning what meaningful action authorities have taken after seeing him walking around and on school property even though he is banned from it. Nearly two years ago, an approximately half-a-billion-dollar fentanyl superlab was busted in Falkland, B.C., where only one person, Gaganpreet Randhawa, was arrested, highlighting the lack of police oversight in rural B.C. "We're just rural people," said a concerned parent, "we just don't have a voice," saying that they're feeling abandoned to fend off this threat by themselves with no support from the government. Matthew Henegan, a Falkland resident and CAF veteran, says authorities need to communicate better: “Relying on a playbook pre-Tumbler Ridge, I think, is outdated, because we live in a different world now, and that’s just the reality of living in B.C. post-Tumbler Ridge.” While it remains unclear what steps authorities have taken, the youth’s presence around the school raises the question of when he will get the help he needs, and when the town will return to normal. Benoît Paré on Redacted: "I talked to this journalist who claimed he was kidnapped in the street by people wearing balaclavas and then he was driven away in a van far away and then he was kept in a basement for three days with a hood on his head which was almost never taken off and he was subject to torture, interrogation, humiliations. He didn't want to describe the type of torture that was inflicted upon him. But we could guess it was of a sexual nature because he was basically stripped naked on a chair for 3 days with just a t-shirt and a hood on his face and he his hands tied behind him. He told us the people who took him were what was called voluntary battalion by in those days. From 2014, the Ukrainian government decided to form so-called volunteer battalions. Azov was part of them, but you also had other battalions, like Aidar battalion, Denipro... I heard so many stories about people being snatched, kidnapped, by these people and tortured. I got similar stories in Mariupol from other people, other journalists. Journalists were one of the key targets for them, because they didn't want a counter narrative to emerge. So, they were targeting journalists on a priority basis. I personally talked to five or six different journalists. One journalist said that at the beginning of the conflict, the Ukrainian military was shelling different cities. So one journalist wrote about that and he said that this is why he was kidnapped afterwards, because they said, 'You cannot write that'. But he said, 'But that's the truth, my job is to write the truth, my job is to write facts,' and he was told, 'No, you cannot write such things,' and he was even blackmailed. They asked him at some point to hold a gun in his hand. So he did and then they say, 'Okay, now we have your finger prints on a gun. If you don't do as you're told, we will basically accuse you of terrorism.' I have other people, other journalists who told me that the SBU--it was not the volunteer battalions in this case. It was the SBU, the Secret Service of Ukraine--that basically told them, 'You have to stop working as a journalist. If you don't, we'll put you in jail for eight years'..." The people listed on it are recommended for liquidation and arrest, and the total number of people listed are in the tens of thousands. According to many experts, it was the listing on the site and the publication of the home address that prompted the murder of Oles Buzina, Oleg Kalashnikov, and many other opposition figures by members of the Ukrainian ‘death squads’. Back in 2015, Georgiy Tuka, who participated in the creation and operation of the site, stated that, of the people listed on the site, “more than 300 were either arrested or destroyed,” the report states.

YOU ARE NOT THE TARGET MARKET FOR EVERYTHING. Sino has raised some interesting points. What he failed to grasp is that radio & television broadcasters cater for different demographics and segmented part of the collective, in society and their consumers. 1. “ask a man” is THE or one of the most popular segments on MetroFM and on SA radio. Popularity = media sales … in this case… influences ad buy-ins on the slot. 2. A radio station can’t just be centred around the interests of one specific listener block and sustain a viable business model, while trying to compete for a wider audience pull. 3. Extrapolating on 2 above, 947 or 5FM can’t just be a whole day of one show format with different presenters. Gen Z aren’t the only listeners, within that group … there are different fans of different perspectives, music, vibes, etc. 4. UKhozi is an isiZulu station, to expect anything less from that, is to not understand the basic intent behind the station. That’s like complaining that Joshua Doore sells too much furniture. 5. 947 and Anele, well, I will give him the impact and looming presence of the broadcaster around the brand. That said, I think the gentleman does not listen to the station or engage in the brand output across the board. He knows Anele, but trust, 947 listeners are attuned to and support other talent and extensional things that have nothing to do with Anele. Has he been to Joburg Day? Does he not know how big Top 40 is? Of course Anele & the Club gets more social media attention because it is a breakfast show, popular and media sales gold for Primedia. 5. MetroFM is not Y, it caters to a wider age demo hence you even have different shows with different genres and a current affairs show. 6. Umhlobo Wenene. I hear his points. I’m not too familiar with the station. On the new talent point; But don’t they have the talent search anymore? I know they used to have talent competition similar to Ukhozi. 7. Song Of The Year … that’s a whole essay on its own. 🫣 Lemme not make this too long; Dare I ask though … If catering to Gen Z was “the hill”, then why is a station that is specifically targeting them, Y, not the most listened to station in SA, or even in its regional designation of Gauteng? By the way … has he not noticed that YFM is slowly pivoting to the 947 template? 😉 Broadcasting is a business. Money is the bottom line — not pandering to monolithic perception of demographics.
