Let’s kill this lie once and for all: Racism doesn’t come from working-class struggle. To claim the white working class would treat Black and Brown people better if they were economically happier is dishonest. It paints them as thoughtless, incapable of moral choice, and worse, it excuses their racism. Poverty doesn’t create racism; white supremacy does. And blaming hardship is just another way to protect it. If they truly cared about their economic struggle, they’d know what’s in Nigel Farage’s manifesto.
