The event brought together business leaders, industry experts, local entrepreneurs, and representatives from small and medium enterprises. As the gateway to the North East, North Bengal holds immense strategic significance in the realm of trade and commerce. Together, we explored meaningful avenues to fully harness its untapped potential. It was a privilege to inaugurate four industrial parks in Dabgram and Ambari Falakata in Jalpaiguri, and Ethelbari and Jaigaon in Alipurduar. Spanning a total of 123.28 acres and developed at a project cost of ₹80 crore, these parks are poised to generate 4,230 new employment opportunities. With the completion of the Dankuni-Cooch Behar Industrial Corridor, North Bengal will truly emerge as a dynamic hub of business and industry. We also inaugurated the Techno India Group World School, further strengthening the region’s educational infrastructure. I was pleased to dedicate the new Siliguri Data Centre to the people, a state-of-the-art facility equipped with AI/ML infrastructure and cloud-ready virtualised application and database hosting. I am also happy to share that the Siliguri International Convention Centre will soon be established on 10 acres of land in Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode, creating a world-class venue for hosting business summits, exhibitions, and global events. In addition, I had the honour of inaugurating the skywalk at the Jalpesh Shiv Mandir, along with the newly renovated temple complex, developed at a cost of ₹5 crore. I’m also happy to announce that six new Volvo buses will now operate from North Bengal to Digha’s Jagannath Temple, offering devotees a more comfortable and accessible travel experience. My commitment to the holistic development of North Bengal remains steadfast. We shall continue working towards inclusive growth, sustainable infrastructure, and economic empowerment for all.
