Vision Pro vs Quest 3 Passthrough IMO, the biggest reason people are underwhelmed with Vision Pro’s Passthrough is likely due to the muted/neutral tone mapping and contrast I think the Vision Pro’s cameras have higher dynamic range but their tone mapping is really muted.

Here’s the same scene with the blinds closed So muted!

also if your dev desk doesnt have multiple laptops, a walkie-talkie, a podcasting mic, obsolete airpods that you just cant seem to get rid of, an AQI meter, a drone, and a used espresso cup... you're ngmi

The warping makes me so dizzy.😵

You can change the color and tone mapping. Makes a huge difference Go to environments and choose the lights on the right. Crank it up to max, the same way you could see the entire moon

Ah, good point! Hadn’t tried those. The “morning light” one certainly does make the scene brighter. I still wish it had more contrast though (it’s lacking deep blacks)

I wasn’t underwhelmed at all. In fact, the very first thing that stood out during my Apple Store demo was absolutely ZERO distortion in the passthrough, albeit, it was significantly dimmer than the overly brightly lit Apple Store. Eye tracking, resolution and ecosystem sold me.

I wasn’t underwhelmed either. The high frame rate and low latency of the passthrough are absolute standout features for me. The resolution is more or less what I expected. I just was surprised when I put on my quest 3 and was presented with such a brighter image, especially for the fact the I *know* how bright AVP can get in HDR movies

It makes sense tbh, the glassy UI would be completely ineligible on vibrant background colors

The most annoying part of the passthrough on my quest 3 is the constant warping when moving something in front of my face... Looks like the AVP does not have this?

Im sorry but videos are not representative of what you actually see in the goggles. There is more grainyness and bluriness in the passthrough at longer distances when actually using it in the AVP vs the screen recordings.
