#WATCH | Tamil Nadu: Residents staged a road blockade protest at Sanjeevi Nagar on the Tiruchirappalli–Chennai National Highway demanding the speedy completion of maintenance work on the Cauvery Bridge. The old Cauvery Bridge has been closed for the past two days for repair works, resulting in severe traffic congestion and causing major inconvenience to commuters. Protesters said the prolonged closure has led to unbearable delays and urged the authorities to complete the maintenance work at the earliest. Traffic police officials reached the spot and held talks with the protesters in an attempt to pacify them and restore normal traffic. Residents also pointed out that their long-pending demand for the construction of a flyover at Sanjeevi Nagar has remained unresolved for several years. They recalled that the local Member of Parliament had earlier assured that the project would be taken up soon. However, with the closure of the old Cauvery Bridge, traffic congestion has worsened, prompting the public to launch the protest. The traffic jam has stretched for nearly three kilometres, affecting the entire route from Oyamari Road through the Cauvery Bridge, Mambazha Salai, Thiruvanaikaval, Kumbakonathan Salai and the Tiruchirappalli–Chennai National Highway. Just completed a surprise visit to District Okara - Patients at DHQ Okara raised concerns about the lack of free medicines. DC Okara will conduct an inquiry with a 24-hour deadline. -Keeping in view the shortage , 15 new dialysis machines for DHQ Okara are en route from the Punjab government. -Development work of Gymkhana will be completed by year end. -DC Okara has been asked to submit details of all on going projects so that funding issues may be resolved and the projects can be completed as early as possible. Much appreciation for DC and DPO for working proactively and keeping track of all the issues of the district.

This morning, I was truly delighted to join His Excellency, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, and other top government officials at the groundbreaking ceremony of the ₦59.7 billion Uromi Junction Flyover project in Ika South LGA. As the immediate past Governor of Delta State, I sincerely commend Governor Oborevwori for the peace and stability he has sustained in the state, as well as the remarkable work he continues to do across Delta North and Delta State as a whole. He has continued to make me very proud. This landmark project will greatly ease traffic congestion at the Uromi Junction, enhance road safety, improve connectivity, and boost economic activities in the area and beyond. Today I held two important meetings to review the progress on creation of the new TMARS-Traffic Management and Road Safety Bureau of TG and the TADASC- Telangana Anti Drug & Safety Committees in all educational institutions. Work on these has been going on for the last couple of months and is nearing fruition The TMARS is proposed to lead to standardisation of Traffic Management practices across the state and also enhance road safety through Highway patrolling and also taken up maintenance of traffic signals, setting up new ones , road signages and infra etc. The TADASC will extend the drive against narcotics into all educational institutions and make educational institutions responsible for spotting and informing the law enforcement authorities about any suspicious behaviour of students . The students will have to give affidavits regarding drugs and the educational institutions will be liable for not implementing this. They will appoint campus safety coordinators and work with students and authorities and will also look into ragging, acts against dignity of girl students, traffic awareness. Unless we save our next generation against this danger, we are going to lose this war against Drugs. #TelanganaPolice

The contractor handling the Abeokuta-Ota-Lagos Road project has almost completed the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the section between Abeokuta and Papalanto, making the journey along this axis smooth and stress-free. Work is also progressing steadily between Papalanto, Ifo, and Sango, where construction activities are ongoing to deliver a durable and motorable road for the benefit of all. This project, though a federal road, was formally handed over to us after several years of failed interventions, and we took it upon ourselves to ensure it is fixed once and for all. Our administration remains resolute in its commitment to providing quality infrastructure that enhances economic growth, facilitates ease of movement, and improves the daily lives of our people. Major upgrades are also underway at Mbuya Nehanda Hospital—now approximately 70 percent complete—as well as at Sally Mugabe Hospital and Mpilo Hospital. According to Dr. Paul Tungwarara, all the hospitals currently under rehabilitation are expected to be completed and officially handed over before the end of this year. In this direction, we have made an effort. Several major companies operating in Delhi will be made partners in this fight. We have signed an MoU with GMR today, under which the stretch from Azad Market to Inderlok has been handed over to them for maintenance, cleaning, and plantation. They have taken up this stretch for 3 years. The work has started...GMR will do this at an expense of Rs 6 Crores. Similarly, MoUs have been signed with different companies. Work on the stretch from Madhuban Chowk to Mukarba Chowk has been handed over to IOCL. We have also handed over works for Chirag Dilli Flyover, Panchsheel Club Flyover, IIT Flyover, Punjabi Bagh and Aurobindo Marg. To IGL, we have handed over the work of Munirka Flyover under CSR. To Vedanta, we have handed over the work of Punjabi Bagh, Ram Mandir side and Shalimar Bagh side on Outer Ring Road side, new Rao Tula Marg Flyover. To Godrej, we have given the work of Netaji Subhash Place Flyover. To Dalmia, we have given the work of Oberoi and Lodhi Road, Mangi Flyover. To DLF, we have given the work of Karampura Flyover. Similarly, Delhi Govt is in talks with several other companies. We have also handed over works for Chirag Dilli Flyover, Panchsheel Club Flyover, IIT Flyover, Punjabi Bagh and Aurobindo Marg. To IGL, we have handed over the work of Munirka Flyover under CSR. To Vedanta, we have handed over the work of Punjabi Bagh, Ram Mandir side and Shalimar Bagh side on Outer Ring Road side, new Rao Tula Marg Flyover. To Godrej, we have given the work of Netaji Subhash Place Flyover. To Dalmia, we have given the work of Oberoi and Lodhi Road, Mangi Flyover. To DLF, we have given the work of Karampura Flyover. Similarly, Delhi Govt is in talks with several other companies. Through CSR, everyone shares the responsibility to keep Delhi clean...I also appeal to the people of Delhi that by becoming 'paryavaran rakshak' we should all work towards this city. We should share this responsibility, we can car pool and reach our offices...Biomass burning, we can see people seen burning wood or coal, they will have to be stopped. The road construction on Princess Park Street has been progressing quite well and we grateful for the continued support and patience of the community and road users. The final road layer is in progress and it is anticipated that the surfacing be completed by Friday 12 December 2025. The safety of the road users is the core priority and it is for this reason that the Roads and Transport will implement pre-markings and install temporary stop signs for the entire festive season as the road will be open for traffic soon. As the MMC for Roads and Transport I have visited the site on regular basis since the commencement of construction ,to ensure that the set milestones and commitments to the residents of Tshwane are fulfilled.

Tomorrow, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate two major National Highway projects worth a combined cost of nearly Rs.11,000 crore.
