Elon Musk and Joe Rogan discussed animal agriculture in the latest episode of podcast The Joe Rogan Experience, with both of them making a number of inaccurate claims about meat’s impact on the planet. Raising animals, particularly cows, for meat has the biggest impact on the climate and the environment of all foods. Animal agriculture contributes at least 16.5 percent of total global emissions. The reason that ruminant animals like cows are so bad for the climate is that they produce methane, a potent greenhouse gas with up to 80 times the warming potential of carbon dioxide in its first 20 years in the atmosphere. In addition, the vast amount of land used to graze animals or grow food to feed them — 80 percent of all agricultural land — could otherwise be absorbing carbon if it were returned to nature. This is equivalent to 17 million 747 jets, and if you laid the jets end to end, they would go around the planet 31 times. The copepods migrate from around 200m below the ocean surface every night to feed on plants (phytoplankton) at the surface. It is the greatest mass migration of animals on the planet, and it happens twice a day. The vertical motion of the copepods moves just about as much water as the moon and the tides. The copepods eat 30 times more carbon than humanity generates from burning fossil fuels, and about 6%, or 3 gigatons, of their dead bodies and poop end up in the world’s largest carbon bank, the Abyss. The Abyss contains 500m to 1000’s of meters thick layer of organic carbon / mineral sludge with an area greater area than dry land on the planet. Yet humanity has wiped out more than 50% of marine plankton productivity over the last 70 years due to chemical and particle pollution. We have also wiped out 50% of Arctic krill, which are just as important. and we are now even contemplating dredging the ocean floor! We would not have had climate change if we had not poisoned and destroyed most of the world’s oceans. Last night, Russia carried out a combined missile and drone attack on Chernihiv Oblast. 6 Iskander-M ballistic missiles and several Geran-2 drones attacked Chernihiv City. Things I've seen in #Gaza the past few days: small children climbing through trash piles to collect anything of value... parachutes from an aid airdrop used as shelter... men rounded up by soldiers, sitting on the ground with their hands up during a mass interrogation/detention... driving by a dead body laying out in the sun nearby... long queues of exhausted people lined up to fill jerrycans with water that will be rationed... evacuation orders again, then again, then extended on 10 July for the whole of Gaza City... perpetually displaced people forced to flee to nowhere safe. Rubble everywhere, destruction everywhere... of the spirit of a people and of all dignified means of life. #Gaza #CeasefireNOW

An influx of heat from the troposphere is starting to propagate upward and is about to trigger a significant sudden stratospheric warming above the Antarctic continent this week. The world largest weather system, the stratospheric polar vortex will be weakened & displaced north by Saturday. In 2019 a similar stratospheric event caused NZ's coldest and windiest October for nearly a decade. No 2 events are the same though, as other climate driver factors like an incoming La Nina pattern, are different this time round. One to 👀closely.

The Dark Voyager has opened a Sideways Rift to ANOTHER REALITY! 🟨 According to leaks, the golden Sideways Rift will cycle through four different realities. Currently it's on the first one. Chinese automaker Chery Automobile apologized for an incident involving a test at Tianmen Mountain Scenic Area in Zhangjiajie, Central China’s Hunan Province, during which a vehicle slid down the steps and broke part of the guardrail while climbing the “Heavenly Stairs.” The company said it will fully repair the damage caused, assume responsibility for compensation, and properly handle all follow-up matters. It also said it will seriously reflect on the public concern caused by choosing to conduct the test in a public scenic area.
