You know what, as someone with even worse vision than this, I believe this would be the first time I’ve seen an adequate example of how the world looks to us. From the age of six I’ve always had bulky awkward glasses. It’s made athletic activities difficult and I missed out on an entire childhood of learning facial expressions. On the other hand it forced me deep into reading and imagination. I remember distinctly when I was a child getting so upset that my dad had been “flushed down the toilet” after he had shaved off his beard. Looking back on a world that existed as extreme contrasts between dark and light, I could see how a distinguishing characteristic like a beard would be the only differentiator between my dad and every other face out there.

No shortcuts, no excuses—just pure determination. 💥 Are you ready to see who has what it takes? #SurvivingMann #NoLimits #NavySEALs #AmericanSheriff #SpecOps #LawEnforcement #TacticalTraining

Hard to imagine an invention that has helped as many people over the centuries as good old eyeglasses. Can't imagine my life without them! The world’s oldest surviving pair of glasses are from around year 1475.

-6? Pshhhh. That's child play. Now do mine! (I've only met one other person with eyes as bad as mine and they had cataracts as a baby)

Fairly accurate. I’m a -9.0, so I’d pay to be a -3.0.

Stopped before even getting to my prescription (-8.5)

Now do -7.5 Welcome to my world, Can’t wear lenses either due to needing “prisma” what ever the technical term is in English, so lenses would turn upside down ( due to weight difference, so the effect would also be upside down) wouldn’t work. So. Big fat glasses are my only option.

I feel bad for those that have vision like at the end of the video, hopefully the cost of vision repair drops to near zero, and everyone can see with great fidelity in the near future.

This is very accurate coming from a person wearing eyeglasses

This was really close, actually. Hard to put in to words how bad it is at -12.00 for myself where shapes and colors begin to more so blur than have anything defining unless I'm within like 2-3 inches of it.

How do you show people how I see without glasses? Fun trick: Hold a nearsighted lens in front of your phone camera, tap the screen to focus, then take the lens away. You'll get an idea what the vision without those glasses is like

Lasik is one the best investment of my life

This is pretty accurate I’d say without contacts or glasses it’s not fun. Hoping that with advancements in a.I. and robotics the surgery for eyes will get cheaper and safer! Like hopefully it can get down to $20-$50 an eye even for those of us with terrible vision

That moment when the world turns from a Monet painting to a high-def photograph. The magic of corrective lenses!

Well, I guess I will call my parents and thank them for my perfect eyesight at age 33... I didn't know I had won the genetic lottery.

Visualization of how I see after hitting the blunt

Oh my goodness! Get your kids eyes checked to see if the needs glasses, my fear is they aren’t aware of how it should be and just accepts the blurry vision.

yep, that’s pretty much what -6 looks like…

I am also -3.5 looks like kind of accurate

That would apply to the majority of peoples (myopia). With hypermetropia, only the closest things gets blurry.

It's too exaggerated.. Must be community noted..

I disagree tbh. I’m -8.5 and I don’t see as bad as -6, I’ve haven’t been -6 since 14-15 years old. My girls is -3 and she also said it’s not as bad as they make it seem. Everyone else is my family is less than -5 and I promise you they don’t see that bad.

This is really cool, it has crossed my mind more than once about how it is with impaired vision for some people. Also experiencing my own vision deteriorating slightly over time without using glasses.

I thought he was going to teach us how to see without glasses lol

@TheNicoFett

Now do -10/-11, as some people are. But then you should show them -10 with something way up close to the eye. Nature's magnifying glass!

Well show how -19D looks, I think people have very hard to understand how bad you see with such high contactlens strengths! I know that though!

Wow. this stops at -6.... My brother had a power of -9 as kid.

- 11 !! 🙋🏼♀️ 😭

I can relate 😅

Misspelled prescription at -1. 00

the -6.00 would have been good vision for me. Got my vision corrected when had cataract surgery a few years ago. Only took over 50 yrs of wearing glasses to get there. First pair was at 1.5 years.

This is why I got my Lasik a long long time ago. I loved the water but I always feared that if I was in the water, I could not see land. That fear is gone but now my fear is not able to enjoy my life on the beach and relax.

Yeah, nah that's not accurate.

Talk about blind bats🤣
