Thank you for sharing this Brian. For those curious- This is our company: @argylebuild Argyle takes Building Information Models (BIM) and overlays the BIM hologram to the real world jobsite. We have patents on alignment tech that allow for AR to be used in the field for site verification, QA, clash detection, layout and more. Accurate alignment and stability of the hologram to the real world as you walk large project sites is the key to AR moving from demoware to becoming a valuable tool on the jobsite. Argyle is currently being used on large construction projects across N. America by trades, GC’s, and Engineering firms.

Ok, I could get on board with using the tech as a tool like you’ve showcased here. Pretty cool, great for investor relations. How many time would you have closed a deal if the investor has a good visual like this?

I think this sort of augmented reality is far more likely to take off than full blown VR.

is working on similar solutions. Depending on the UI, this could be an amazing augmentation for firefighters and victims who find themselves in a burning building. Many firefighters today will carry and benefit from a T.I.C. However, with something like this, they could effectively see through walls and maintain better situational awareness of their surroundings. Victims, on the other hand, could interface with their phones through an app and possibly be able to see the appropriate exit based on the known location of the fire.
