This argument makes prison redundant... we punish people for sins because they do those sins wilfully out of their own FREE WILL. Non Christians are able to resist sin, and do so everyday.

whatever is not from faith to the glory of God is sin (Rom 14:23). If any believe they are not born a slave to sin and Satan then simply try to stop sinning. 1Jn 3:8a  He who sins is of the devil, Ever sinned? Now you know why Christ came to set His people free!

It's both. Sometimes we choose to sin but others we do unwillingly and or subconsciously
