[Volume on] I’ve never before seen a starling murmuration like last night’s - just a couple of inches off the ground. Ace flying skills!

To add a bit of context, the wall on the right that the starlings seem to vanish into is actually that of an ancient, abandoned churchyard …

A murmuration flew over our house earlier this year. Really low and so many that they actually darkened the sky above us. The noise was incredible. A very memorable experience.

Wow! incredible. Was the barometric pressure low that day? We have barn swallows in our area of the US and you can judge barometric pressure by how high or low they fly. Apparently insects fly higher in higher pressure and vice versa

I did notice that insects seemed to be abundant and lower yesterday evening
