Dallas County Democratic Party obtained an order to extend polling hours for the March 3 primary election. Polls will now remain open until 9 p.m. at all Dallas County voting locations. Following a challenging day of well documented voting access issues, DCDP was compelled to ensure all Democratic voters have access to the polls. Election judges and poll workers should ensure that all eligible Democratic voters present at polling places by 9 p.m. are allowed to cast a ballot. Voters who are in line by 9 p.m. will be permitted to vote.

Benson said that split-ticket voters using a Dominion ICX Voter Assist Terminal (VAT) on Election Day should "be prepared for straight-ticket/split-ticket programming issues when marking their ballot." “Yeah, this is a nationwide issue with Dominion voter access terminals in, in the counties that use them in the voter access terminals,” Benson said. “Of course, not all the machines, just the ones that are accessible, have an issue. With the straight-party voting and a programming issue, that’s again affected the machines nationwide.” Benson then said she was "unhappy" to learn that the voting machines actually contained flaws. “I think all of us who used Dominion machines were unhappy to learn about this during the testing period and as early voting began, so we’re working with Dominion to seek accountability on that front, and also are working with our clerks to ensure voters are aware of this programming issue that will require them to ensure they are voting every section on the ballot,” she added. According to WLNS, if a VAT (Voter Assist Terminal) user selects a straight-party vote and then chooses to split their ticket, they will receive an error message. However, they will still have the opportunity to correct the error and cast their ballot. This issue does not impact which candidates or issues a voter selects, but it may cause an inconvenience for VAT users who vote split-ticket. The Department of State has indicated that the issue cannot be resolved before Election Day next week, though a fix is planned for future elections. It is unknown if Dominion Voting Systems will sue the Michigan Secretary of State for pointing out the voting machine errors.

She says election officials kicked out all the poll watchers, even called to have them removed. They would not seal the ballots and wouldn’t close the voting machines “Something very sketchy happened while I was poll watching in the Bronx. I was closing a location, and at first I thought everything was fine. I had checked the numbers, and the number of voters who signed in matched the number of ballots scanned — I was just really pleased and getting ready to go home. And then I noticed something really weird. Which was that all of the poll workers were checking out and going home and the voting machines were still open. They were unlocked, unsealed, and the ballots hadn't been taken out yet. Now, this is very strange. I've been poll watching in New York City since 2021, and I've never seen that happen. The procedure is that every voting machine has a poll worker assigned to it, and at the end of the night, each individual poll worker closes down their voting machine, seals it, and takes the ballots out and seals the ballots. And the ballots and the voting machines were totally unsealed. So I just sat down and waited to see them take the ballots out and seal them. And then the coordinator started getting really like antsy and nervous, and they were like, you're all done, you got your numbers, you can go. And they actually got on the phone and called the deputy chief clerk who told me that I had to leave. And I said, no, I'm a poll watcher. I'm supposed to stay until the ballots are sealed and the police pick them up — They finally took the ballots out of the machine and put them in bags on the floor. And I said, they're not sealed. And then they got the seals out and they put the seals on. I said, can I see the seal numbers? They said no. I said, did you check the seal number on the paperwork and initial it? She said yes. I said, can I see it? She said no” “A guy named Charles, to close down the voting machines by himself. And I said, the voting machines aren't sealed. And he said, I'm sealing them, but he wasn't” This means after all the poll watchers leave, Democrats could easily introduce any additional ballots they wanted to and also change the ballots in there In New York the law says poll watchers are specifically authorized to observe the unlocking, examination and related sealing steps for voting machines and ballot boxes It’s 2020 all over again. While I was standing there, these young ladies walked in, proud and excited to cast their first vote. Their names weren't on the rolls, and they were turned away. They weren't offered a provisional ballot or any other option, and they had to leave without voting. Two problems at one polling location in one day is a pattern, and it needs answers. No eligible voter should be sent home on Election Day, especially young people casting their very first ballot. When we tell young people their voice matters and then shut the door on them at the polls, we break their trust. I'm proud of these young ladies for showing up, and I'm not letting this go. We're pushing for answers and working to make it right.
