my theory is that this paradigm will never work because the amount of time a regular user spends scrolling past a mini-game is disproportionately minuscule compared to the time it took to make the mini-game the ratio is unhealthy

I'm actually having the opposite problem. It is now so easy to make a good game that I'm not sure they're valuable
