Man I really need to watch the scene describing the Fullbring again because I can’t remember the exact reason why the powers manifest the way they do for some but for Ichigo it is the memories of his powers in the badge that lets him tap back into those powers. It is basically

A knockoff version of his powers yes but still a good memory of them.

It makes better utilization of his hollow abilities than just using his mask. Plus, it improves his overall control over his spiritual energy, which was poor to begin with.

The story explains it. Ichigo lost his ability to fight and help. Fullbring was a route to regain a semblance of that power. A side effect of that was increased physical capabilities which made his base stronger which in turn makes his full power as a soul reaper even stronger.

Fullbring was the bridge that allowed Ichigo to link his very dormant and latent spirit energy with his physical form. His Quincy side was still suppressed at the time, but that would have been a viable alternative if he knew about it.

His shinigami mode IS his Fullbring now. Ichigo with Fullbring Shikai/Bankai already has the power of Hollowfication added to it + amplified since more of his power is brought out. So the addition of Fullbring sorta bridged his ability to tap into the 2 powers into 1 pipeline.

Simple. Fullbring awakening helped him utilize hollow and quincy abilities if need be. Fullbring utilized hollow passively. Fullbring bypasses the hollow is poisonous to quincy. Enabling his evolution in tybw.

He didn't gain Fullbring to 'add' to his powerset. At the time, he thought it was the only way to regain powers, and Tsukishima was messing with his life, so he needed *something*

His "fullbring" power was emulating his shinigami powers to begin with. It wasn't a different set of habilities, it just worked as a multiplier to his regular powerset.

Fullbring helped stabilize Ichigo’s Hollow and Shinigami powers. I also think it helped him to communicate with his Zanpakuto spirits since Fullbringers naturally manipulate the souls of objects. It also made him closer to the Soul King since Fullbringers have pieces of the SK.

His full bring fused with his shinigami powers which allowed him to use his shinigami form without having to leave his body. It also gives him the power to manipulate the souls of inanimate things, though he has hardly ever used this ability outside of the full being ark he should still be able to use it.

Ichigo lost his powers after his fight with Aizen, which is why he had the fullbring in this arc.

He also used his cool af bankai exactly once

It brought better harmony when he regained his powers, and before that it was like his power returned but in a nerfed state due to the shinigami powers being fused to his hollow powers.

Honestly, it let him channel them in his human body as a fullbring since the hollow, reaper, and fullbring were all congealed together. As a soul reaper the fullbring gives him a power amp.
