No 😂 But a lot of people believed it and bought in. Your jump comes from the upper legs (quads, glutes, and hams). That’s why people squat before they jump, but whoever came up with this made 💵💵💵

You gonna have all of us 40-somethings who read 'Slam' tryna find these online tryna get that 40in vert. Gonna have us ol'tech niggas going to work tryna troubleshoot servers standing in these.

“Can I sue them? After three jumps, my ACL ended up in my hamstring”

Never saw these in the wild, only on Eastbay

Yes they did

Nigga a knew wearing these was doing Vince Carter style dunks, so YES!

I had the jumpsoles because you were able to wear your own shoes. I got them after high school and they did strengthen your calves, quads, hammies. They came with an exercise regimen over like 2 to 3 months. Then the had the proprioceptor inserts which worked on fast twitch and ankle strengthening. My ankles were steel lol

They built muscle in your cavs so technically yes.

I still have these lol.. and yes they work

I remember when the boys wore these lol

Snap your damn Achilles with these things lol

Every Eastbay issue I was begging for these from one relative or another. One of my friends at school swore they had his brother jumping out the gym. I wish I had got to figure it out smh

The “medium level” workouts were bonkers. I remember quitting after reaching medium. The idea was there.

A lot of 90s hoppers (kids) would wear the strap on ankle weights where I’m from lol

I had white friends out late on the courts hopping around on these like kangaroos.

No. Air Alert II program first helped me dunk a basketball

They worked for Jimmy

Yes, I was 5’6 and made varsity as a freshman lol

No 😂

My calves are big as shit to this day but fuck no.

Mannnn, you woulda been better off with weights on your ankles. That what I did. I was dunking on a 10 inch rim at 5'8.

Yea they worked, but you could do calf-raises and work the quads getting the same results. Mid 90's I would see a lot of dudes rocking these, These are guys who had zero raise but within a couple of months were jumping out the gym. Granted everyone is different but from what I saw they worked.

I remember strength shoes lol. It was Air Alert that got me a little bounce tho. Shout out @BaronDavis

basically they just strengthen your calves and you were then able to jump out the gym.

If you trained properly with them yes. These are not even the originals. The originals were an attachment to your shoe. I had a pair in 92-93.

Hell I remember girls buying heels that looked like these off of Sheikh shoes 🤣🤣

Worked for me. I had the Jump Soles tho. Had me finishing putback dunks like AI at 5’9”. 🤌🏽

about as much as calf raises

I never made it to the NBA, so gonna go with:

Not really.

Just as dumb as the pump shit.

Dude I had these pancake shoes in high school. I did go from touching rim to packing it. I truly don't know what helped these or the extra jumping I was doing because of the shoes.

Yes! The homie wore them all summer & stayed in the air after that

Ya if you took seriously. We weren’t old enough and didn’t care.

They worked
