Wait until you see the holes! 😱

So I’ve been in a bit of a situation with some very busy squirrels lately!

After trying a live trap, I reached out to my friends at @peta and learned such an important lesson: Never trap!!! (Even live humane trap) They can be incredibly traumatic for wildlife and often don't solve the root of the problem.

We are now focusing on making our home "unattractive" to them using a spray called Nature's Armor to protect the house without hurting our furry neighbors. You can also use peppermint, garlic, and vinegar.

Goal #1 is always to wait until they are out, then block the entry with metal mesh to keep them safe and outside where they belong! Just in case you’re ever in a similar situation…

This site sells fox urine (either in spray or pellets), which naturally scares away squirrels.

I have the same moral dilemmas. I have squirrels, raccoons and rodents. Rodents were under my storage shed the other two everywhere and the raccoons I had on surveillance cameras opening the garbage cans on garbage day spreading garbage everywhere. Repositioned a camera in my side yard yes they were in the garange. I bought rat poison and it day here for a year, I couldn’t do it, a mom raccoon and her babies to kill them because they are hungry. Stainless steel mesh everywhere on gaps around the house now and I now store the garbage cans out front. I’m an environmental scientist and if that rat poison makes it into the food chain? Then hawks and coyotes eat the rats and raccoons that ate the poison and it kills a lot of animals and spreads environmental toxins everywhere. Then cut back all the trees so the squirrels aren’t jumping from the trees to the roof. Took the rat poison still sealed to a hazard chemical drop-off center. I have a whole ecosystem where I used to get lots os wasps nests no poison again then a lizard population grew here and they eliminated all the wasps. Several bee hives I had them removed by bee keepers who have farms and they harvest the honey, my neighbor spraying them with poison too cheap to pay a bee keeper so I pay each time they come back to have a hive removed.

put up some squirrels boxes and set out some nuts away from your home.. they will become your friends!! they are just trying to survive!!, we live in their worlds

I have quite a few squirrels, possums & skunks that show up in my backyard...the possums & skunks are nocturnal, so not a problem during the day. I have this cute returning squirrel and he steals (chews on) my cats blanket and I guess he/she is making a nest. They sure are cute.

I have lived several places with squirrels, and I have never had any problems with them damaging the buildings or coming in the buildings.

At 2:03 I thought the story was going to be that the squirrels had taken over the house and were causing a ruckus!

I love it when celebrities have first world problems.

The squirrels in Florida do the same thing.Many have removed the wood from certain areas of their houses and replaced them with fake wood made of recycled plastic planks that look just like wood.i know you are very earth conscious,but squirrels don't get through these planks

Maybe make her a little squirrel house out of cedar pickets. You could even put a camera in it.

open the trap up farther away from your house just not to far and leave the door open for him to go . they will go out when they see no danger

I had an issue with squirrels and just changed certain things from plastic/wood to metal. It solved the problem.
