Wait... what u mean this was from 2011?

The computers used to render this should be in a museum

The studio behind the VFX is Industrial Light and Magic founded by yours truly, George Lucas.

Yes, surprisingly! Those times when VFX artists/animators didn’t have short attention span and actually put in the work to deliver Quality Visuals even 15 year later still stuns us! The VFX industry of the 2000s were the ones on something tbh!

Transformers movies have best VFX can't lie

I would never forget the first time I watched this with my Pops🥹 we had the big TV with the speaker at the bottom like attached to it. We turned that thing up loud and it was like it was actually in a movie theater. It was freaking cool!!!

🔥👌

The background plate is even older than that. It was originally shot for the movie The Island. Three full minutes of footage had already been shown in that movie, and here it was simply re-used with Transformers CGI composited on top, much of which was also carried over from the previous Transformers movies... all rushed to make the insanely limited available time... anyway

The CGI was out of this World

Good ole Orange and Teal days

You should be jailed for removing the battle theme from the clip.

Yes! It was best experience to watch. I watched it when it came out.

Wild how well it holds up after all these years

The sad part is that back in 2011 everybody hate that scene, claiming it was way too CGi and it felt fake😐

Wtf is that song?

Wait how are you getting reach on the content I posted first and i am not

The VFX team did an amazing work. There's an interview from @ILMVFX vfx supe Scott Farrar explaining this specific sequence:
