Because he's taking extra care of it. Usually, store goldfishes die very early since they're not supposed to be trapped and people don't know how to properly take care of them

I had one go for 8 years and got so big I had to keep getting bigger tanks. Was a stupid 10 cent one lol. Wish I had pics because he was very pretty. I gave him to someone with a pond eventually

Oh yeah, they can get twice as big or even bigger than that! You have to put them in a bigger tank to see them get bigger. I dropped a handful of $0.25 gold fish in my pond, and after a couple of years they were as big as a koi fish! 😂

A carney GAVE us a goldfish after my kids didn’t win anything at the carnival - yeah thanks carney 🙄. That damn fish has survived and grown so big despite a friend’s kid trying to eat it, then throwing it on the ground. My kids never slowly add him to clean water, they drop his ass in new water, cold turkey. That mf’er is growing big and might survive an apocalypse.

Better be feeding those goldfish some shelled frozen peas. Goldfish will gulp air while eating. They will start swimming sideways or upside down from air in their bladder and can die. They can't burp or fart. Peas provide fiber and act as a mild laxative.

They grow to the size of the tank you keep them in, so if you have a large tank like this, they’re going to get big. Same with algae eaters—I had one that grew to the size of a trout, lol.
