TWO THINGS WHICH ARE NOT TRUE: - Trump has snatched the world’s biggest oil reserve! - And cut China off from its top energy source! That’s what the world is being told – but neither is true, oil analysts said this week. In the summer of 2024, China GUESSED that the US would invade or "regime change" Venezuela and started dramatically lifting its purchases of oil from that country. It then further diversified its suppliers to have multiple oil sources. (Details in video.) As a result, Trump's latest move will have "no effect" on China's economy, western analysts say. . WORLD'S BIGGEST RESERVE? Furthermore, a number of analysts say that the claim that Venezuela has the world's biggest proven oil reserves is unlikely to be true. It comes from claims made by the exact same members of the Venezuelan government that the west keeps criticizing. Rather than 300 billion barrels of oil, the real number is more likely just one third of that, several specialists say. (See video for details and estimates.) And what oil the country does have is thick, heavy, tar-like and increasingly unwanted in the US and elsewhere. Saudi Arabia even cancelled its plans for a heavy oil processing plant. So that's what Trump is left with. And that's at a time when the world is transiting away from fossil fuels towards clean energy, renewable resources, and safe, modular nuclear power plants. . THE IMPLICATIONS From Trump's point of view, the Venezuela operation shows that the U.S. has LOTS of guns and helicopters and CIA agents and soldiers and stuff and can do anything it likes, whenever it likes, wherever it likes, without regard to morality or the rule of law. From the rest of the world's point of view, THAT is the problem.

I shared a video from Nick Freitas yesterday about how to encourage and reach young men. You should check it out if you didn’t see it. Now, here is a clip that shows how to repel and discourage young men. This is so frustrating, Sean DeMars and Neil Shenvi. Leaving aside the whole “woke right” thing, whatever. You acknowledge that the Left has total cultural control. Then you mock the idea that white men are systemically discriminated against in our culture, or that we live in an effeminate gynocracy. What do you think the Left does with its total cultural control? You mock young men by claiming that their discrimination has no basis in reality, but has to be understood via some “gnostic” higher knowledge. This is not fair. We are starting to get more and more hard data on this issue. I will admit that there is an element of “look around, this should be obvious.” It should be, and you’re really sticking your head in the sand to deny these things. But being on the Right is to believe in God’s created reality. It’s not about “lived experience,” it’s about what is actually true. White men are being discriminated against in this culture, and the West has been feminized radically in the last 60 years. The biggest problem with the woke was always that they were wrong, beyond even their philosophical system. It wasn’t merely that they were claiming to be oppressed, but it was that this claim was wrong. "This argument sounds like that argument" is just so lazy when one was factually wrong, and one is factually right. The claims of the Right are correct in general. But at the end of the day, good luck crapping on young men like this. We'll see how that works out for you. I won’t be joining you.

David Friedberg: Michael Burry’s Datacenter Math is Wrong “I actually think Michael Burberry's got this wrong.” “What Michael Burry is saying is that all of these hyperscalers have extended their depreciation schedule or the useful life of their data centers by roughly 2x, which cuts the operating costs in half when they report it in earnings. And so it's making their earnings inflate.” “So he's claiming they're cooking the books. Google first made this change in Q1 of 2021, where they said the servers are now going from 3 to 4 years. Separately in 2021, Google took networking equipment from 3 to 5 years. And then in 2023, they took it from 5 to 6 years.” “And so this is a result of this effort where they went in and did an analysis. So what happened?” “What happened in the data centers is that the data centers transitioned from being primarily data storage and data transfer systems, where you would use hard drives and RAM and memory to store data and then transmit it back out, to being data processing centers because of the AI boom.” “So as AI became more important in the data center, more of the dollars that are going into data centers were allocated towards chips from data storage, which initially was hard drives.” “And then suddenly, when you put these processors in to process the data to do AI, the majority of the spend and the majority of the energy is going towards the processors.” “I made some calls and I checked around with some other friends, and everyone says the same thing: that these 7-8 year old TPUs and GPUs that are sitting in the data centers are still being used and they're being used at 100% utilization.” “So that actually justifies and validates the depreciation schedule being much longer versus shorter.”
