#LNGSHOT #LOUIS #WOOJIN shared full story how “Never Let Go” was born 👶🏻 this song was actually originally worked on by me and woojin hyung when we were still trainees. after our coach leader heard it, he said the song’s quality was too good, so we decided to try a full team version 🐆after our schedule was over, we just watched youtube and listened to a lot of songs. louis and i were together at that time so we thought “let’s just try it” we searched for a beat right there, i turned on the recording and louis immediately freestyled. i used the hook and then wrote the post-chorus right away. actually at first we weren’t that obsessed or that into the song even though we had kept it, but when our coach leader heard it, he said “this has to be done” so that day we worked on it with the hyungs. at the company, they also matched us with a topliner hyung who was close to us and from there the song developed, but we never imagined it would make it into the debut album

🐰 do you remember that time? i think it was around when we were about to debut. we were practicing late at night, from like 9 pm until 3 am and we kept hearing strange noises outside. back then even as trainees, we already had some fans who liked us, so people would sneak around, open the door a little, and peek in. 🐰 but since we weren’t supposed to be revealed yet, we thought, “what is that? did fan come in again?” and if we went out, it might cause problem, so our dance teacher went out to check. then the teacher suddenly came back in saying, “omg, what was that, what was that?” looking scared we asked, “why? what happened?” and they said it was too scary so we went to check. 🐰 on the stairs, there were albums of another artist, and each one had an x mark on it, placed step by step along the staircase. 🐱it looked like some kind of curse ritual or something. 🐰when we saw it, we got chills right away. but we were so scared we couldn’t even think to clean it up, so we all just went back inside, completely shaken like “what do we do now?” what did we end up doing? i don’t even remember. 🐰that’s as much as i can recall. i just remember the chills from back then. it was right when we were about to be revealed, too. it was really scary. 🐰the albums were placed neatly on each stair, one by one, all with x marks on them. there were a lot of scary moments like that.

He’s got a point… I used to be all chill, love & light. I was comfortable. But we are all under pressure, we have allowed things to spiral out of control & we are reaching boiling point right now. You can only push people so far. Things have been pushed so far out of balance that when they swing back the other way, it’s going to be brutal. We have been backed into a corner with no way out & when this happens to our people, it doesn’t end well for those that have put us in this situation. Wish Whites could find a happy medium & not let things turn to shit before we act though.

I feel like it plays into the way, the rhythms that you choose and the way that you sing. And I wonder if you see that as well, that interplay. 🐥: When I was working on those songs with my producers, we did make them thinking they would be great songs for me to dance to. Especially with "Be Mine," we even made a dance that I wanted to share with fans, but since I had to go to the military, it was a rough time.

We stood by you in silence, and when silence wasn’t enough, we spoke up, especially in the moments when you were treated unfairly. We tried to understand you the best we could, patiently, even when it broke our hearts a little each time. And not once did we regret loving you, or choosing to support you. He was a version of ourselves that we rejected. The part that we want to hide. The shame we carried, but I think the creature can be a lot of things. He is whatever piece of you the world has told you to be ashamed of. He can be whatever you’ve been running from because you couldn’t bear to look at it. For some people, that might be internalized fear. The part of yourself you were taught to hate; before you even understood what it was. For some it’s trauma you’ve never spoken out loud. For some it can be body dysmorphia. The way you can’t look in a mirror without flinching. For some it’s shame about your family. About your past mistakes. Your desires. Your difference. Whatever it is, we all have a creature. We all have a part of ourselves we’ve kept locked outside the door because we’re afraid of what it would mean to let it in. What I want to say with this album, with this song is you don’t have to keep running. You can turn around. You can open the door, and when you do, whether it’s that’s with a friend, with someone you love, or even just by yourself, in the mirror, the thing you’ve always been afraid of, it’s a part of you. As time passed and the war continued, the realization sank in that we weren't the ones who erred. Those who didn't listen to our cries were wrong! And it's clear to us now, more than ever, that we have no choice but to continue. We were strengthened tremendously by your family, who continues in your path despite the terrible tragedy – and in many ways, because of it. They, like us, cannot know what you would be thinking had you survived the horrific massacre, but knowing you, we believe you would not have despaired or given up. You would have continued to work tirelessly for a diplomatic agreement and a better future for Israel and the region's residents, so that we can raise our children and future generations here in peace, security, equality, and freedom.
