I think the military doctrine is changing. Aircraft carriers are vulnerable and I have previously written that if a conflict between the U.S. and Iran starts, the US will have its aircraft carriers at a safe distance. The issue extends beyond just Iran and the U.S.; it is also significantly related to the anticipated conflict between China and Taiwan. In my opinion, the U.S. does not wish to grant China any benefits in light of that conflict.
