Warner Bros. didn’t want to release Every Which Way But Loose. Adjusted for inflation, it remains Clint’s biggest box-office hit as an actor. He was right. They were wrong. “Everybody thought I’d lost my mind.”

Absolutely loved this move as a kid. “Right turn Clyde.”

These films are so much fun. Love the whole Black Widows biker arc, from arch-enemies to reluctant allies. And Ruth Gordon as "Ma" is an absolute legend.

In an absolute nutshell, Scott 😃

One of my all time favourites..along with Any Which Way You Can. They both have huge sentimental value to me..not that I had a pet Orangutan..but one of the most played VHS in the family library. Just brilliant.

I remember my dad taking me to see both of these films, and I loved them. I think I prefer the second one, with everyone racing to that small town to see the fight. It has a Cannonball Run feel about it.

Absolutely bang on. Barry Corbin as Fat Zack is great value. "The fight is on!" Good punch up as well..👊🏼😁

The quiet genius of Clint. Anytime I hear the banger Eddie Rabbit theme song, it takes me on a time warp to childhood nostalgia.

That music mofit for the Black Widows is incredible too. These are such crazy fun movies

Hearing him say he wanted to make a movie that kids could enjoy....LOL. He was g*damn right. As a kid this was cinema. They don't make movies like this for kids nowadays. It was like watching a live action looney tunes cartoon.

Let's acknowledge how awesome that lower third is, "Clint Eastwood - Legend." That says it all

Thanks, Clint. I thought it was appropriate. 😀

Only watched this film once only memory is Clint says... right turn Clyde and he punches someone?

That's the one.

Been a very long time since ive seen it but that scene amused me the most

Never seen it. Do you recommend?

Absolutely. They're incredibly silly, but in a really good way.

It's great because it's so silly. I still say "right turn, Clyde" to my dog on every walk.

It's amazing how "Right turn, Clyde" is still part of popular culture.

Love this movie, fun, pure entertainment! And both movies have an excellent soundtrack...u put that together with the Urban Cowboy soundtrack and all the 70's outlaw country tunes and it makes a great playlist

I always enjoyed watching the Philo Beddoe and Clyde saga ever since first time I saw them aired on 80’s television but I had no idea Every Which Way was Clint’s biggest box office draw. wow.

Ma was a legend, my dad took me to see this when I was single digits and I watch one or both annually

Ruth Gordon was 82 when she played Ma in Every Which Way but Loose. It's an incredible performance for her age... and then she did another one!

If you don't regularly say "Right turn Clyde", you are automatically removed from Gen-X.

My father loved this movie

My dad introduced me to these. He loved them too.

It’s one of my favourite films from Clint, I just love it. The sequel too!

And they're utterly unique. There's nothing like the feel and tone of these movies. They kind of exist inside their own little world.

Absolutely. My brother bought me the soundtrack a few years ago. Listen to it often and picture the scenes.

@Garybaldi_77 Remeber these but they were out of my mind until you posted brought back the memory -I wonder how my kids would have reacted if they had watched them, but these movies were nowehere to be found in the early 2000s! Wish one could back to those days and watch these with them.

“We’re gonna kill you slow, Beddoe, take maybe a week”

he had the black widows and a cop travel all the way to denver to get revenge on him for having a punch up 🤣🤣 ,such a fun movie and the sequel Every Which Way You Can

Great movie, the sequel too.

Philo: Mighty nice of you. Biker/Frank: Do you see that? Philo: An arm? Frank: No-oo that! Philo: A tattoo? Frank: He don't know what this means! Them's black widows!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Aside from LOTR (original), one of the greatest cinematic pieces of my generation.

I loved all of ‘em!

Such a fun movie.

Saw both at the pictures as a kid with my dad and brother, so Clint was right.

It’s a shame they don’t make movies that resonates with Blue-Collar America anymore.

As a kid, so wanted him to beat Tank Murdoch. As an adult I understand why he didn’t

I love the theme song

@Kitten2402 I could have quoted this movie line for line when I was younger. Between this & Smokey and The Bandit I just have worn out the old VHS tapes with the recoded from television versions I had.

One of my favorites!!

Such great films and I love any which way you can.

One of the two best movies EVER MADE that starred an orangutan.

I loved both of these movies

I still watch both once a year.
