Khamenei is reportedly executing prisoners — is there anyone to speak out? On 13 February, a close relative of mine passed away, and a number of my family members went to Behesht Zahra Cemetery in Tehran to attend the funeral. The following lines are based on their eyewitness accounts and reports. At the mortuary and body handover section, there was a very long line, reportedly including nearly 100 families. In the body washing section, across eight separate areas, staff reportedly worked full-time from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., continuously washing and handing over bodies. The bodies of those killed, often brought in black bags, with autopsied bodies and in some cases shattered heads, appear to be protestors. However, their official cause of death is often listed as “accident.” Eyewitnesses reported that the bodies now being washed are unlikely to have been killed a month ago and appear to have died recently. Near Behesht Zahra, at the Kahrizak Forensic Medicine Center — now accessible only with police or court identification and subject to body searches, and with mobile phones prohibited — warehouses remain full of corpses. According to witnesses, although bodies are laid out on the floors, they appear to be recent deaths, making it unlikely that they are victims of the January protests. International organizations should demand that the Islamic Republic account for the source of these large numbers of bodies and the circumstances of their deaths. The rumor that the Islamic Republic is carrying out a mass execution of prisoners in its prisons and detention centers, delivering them to families under the pretext of January protest victims, appears to be gaining credibility. The video below, recently discovered from the mobile phone of a Revolutionary Guard security officer in Chahardangeh, Tehran, shows three individuals: Aryan Moradi, resident of 30th Abdol Abad Street Morteza Bastaki, teacher from Khani Abad-e No Mohammad Joushghani, resident of Nemat Abad (the individual seated in the last row, with the officer claiming a police car was set on fire) These individuals were reportedly detained without injuries, and their bodies are now being presented to families as protest victims.
