I know some schools have “shop” But this stuff should absolutely be taught

I’ve done a few timber framed things, it’s hard as FUCK. But it is so goddamn rewarding and beautiful.

More videos from Blake here.

Build your homes out of insulated concrete for 1/3rd the price, minimal HVAC cost, no mold, and fireproof, tornadoproof, and bulletproof.

I like how you say OSB looks cheap but in reality that cheap looking stuff ain’t so cheap

This new wood frame is ordered garbage and that's why it burns so fast ... whatever happened to Stone work? Oh that's right people care more about profits than anything else

I still don't understand why we live in wooden frames and cardboard boxes. Or maybe ok, if houses were dirt cheap. But as this is are I wish we had concrete and brick homes.

Kinda glad my house is old and made of brick

I would throw in that the evolution was very much based not only on labor but also supply side (self regulating) capitalist market. Large old growth had shrinking/limiting supply, the market responded. But really a great explanation for the short length of video.

That’s why I’m A roofer

Older is better.

The last framing was peak, then office jockeys and book nerds started sealing up envelopes with wraps/tapes and caused all of the mold and water problems. the 70's-90's in my area were peak. Then came overregulation from tree to house inflating the prices while reducing quality.

I love videos like this

Lol. Throws everything in every shot.

This dude is weirdly animated. Ghey

This was fun

Can someone send this to the europeans

You’re good bro

1000%

Somebody ask Blake to come fix my roof its an absolute disaster!

I love my balloon framed house. When I purchased it, I was able to rip out every joist and all the floors while keeping the walls intact and replacing studs one at a time. Then I rebuilt everything and added with new joists, ledger boards, hangers and blocks underneath.

And if 'we' added just a few 45 deg thin simple braces, all these shear problems would go away (for all 3 types)

This guy rocks.

This is so gosh awfully painful.

Do you have a video on structural Styrofoam construction? My friend is building a large shop out of this material.

Finally someone gives this man his credit.

Luv this dude - 🤌🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Sing-song carpenter should be muted

Aye, Americans would use anything but bricks.

Oh no you need skills sound like a good idea
