@InterestingSTEM Parents responsibility to keep watch over their young child. Life guard is extra precaution. No way should this young man face jail time.

Arrest the parents not the guy that saved his life because the parents were not watching this kid

Parents are complete failures for not teaching their child to swim before going swimming.

So the lifeguard was supposed to do the job of the parents? Its like leaving your child in a burning home (that you caused) and blaming the fire department after they saved your child. Mom should be accountable at the end of the day. Scapegoater.

Who didn’t keep an eye on their own children at a public pool , he’s not a baby sitter

My thought is why the parents don't take responsibility for their own child safety The responsibility cannot fall solely on the lifeguard for doing what he was supposed to two eyes cannot see everything all the time

Why weren’t the parents keeping an eye on their child in the first place

Previous lifeguard instructor here 🙋🏻‍♂️ Lifeguarding is not a casual summer job, lives are at stake. And yes, 4 minutes is an atrocious amount of time, and tells me he was not scanning his area and monitoring the children. You have to see things before they happen. Period.
