Out of the 24 jeepney drivers, I always make sure not to cry hearing their stories, but this one… this was the time that I could not control my emotions and tears anymore… Hearing his story really broke my heart. I still remember when we gave him the rice, he said, “Salamat ma’am, dadalhin ko po ito pauwi sa Martes.” I was confused, why Tuesday? Bakit hindi mamayang gabi pag uwi? And then I found out that he goes home to Laguna once a week to save money, and what really broke my heart is that he sleeps in his jeep at night just to have some rest… and from earning 1k, naging 300 na lang? Hindi ko talaga napigilan sarili ko. Ang sakit lang isipin na ganito yung reality ng iba na kailangan nilang tiisin yung pagod, gutom, at lungkot just to survive and provide for their family. Yung simpleng bagay para sa atin, sobrang laki na para sa kanila. It made me realize how blessed we are and how important it is to continue helping in any way we can. Hindi lang ito about giving, but also about understanding their struggles and being present for them kahit sa maliit na paraan. That moment will stay with me. It reminded me why we do this, why we should never stop, and what kind of community we are.

Philip Seymour Hoffman on the moment he realized he had to get sober. In an interview, Hoffman was asked about entering rehab at a young age. The interviewer mentioned he was 25, but Hoffman quickly corrected him. "I got sober. I was 22 years old." When asked whether it was drugs or alcohol, he didn't hesitate: "Yes. All that stuff. John 15:13 says there’s no greater love than laying down your life for your friends. We’re all imperfect, but the closest we can get to Christ is through service. That’s why I served in combat. And that’s why I’m running for Senate, to keep serving, to honor God, and to stand for the values Texans believe in: faith, family, and love of country.

Physical Gold → Equities Rebalancing Executed! Credit Cards → Gold → Cash → Mutual Funds Sold all my Vedhani Collection from P.N.Gadgil of 231.5 gms 995 gold to Kalyan Jewellers, who bought it at a 3% deduction from the day's rate. I accumulated this gold over several years, and my average purchase price was around ₹10,000/gm, while I sold it at approximately ₹15,000/gm. All gold was bought at discount from various platforms. (Capital gains tax applies based on the respective purchase dates.) On top of the appreciation, the credit card points valued about 15% conservatively on the buying price earned while buying the gold have funded my travels over the last many years and should comfortably fund another year(s) or so of travel. Post melting, the purity came to around 99.4%. (Kalyan may not buy back at just a 3% deduction if this happens, so it's advisable to carry some 999-purity gold along for melting when selling, helping keep the overall purity above 99.5%.) Interestingly, the final weight was marginally higher. The sale proceeds were credited to my bank account the next day after the 3% deduction. I then invested the proceeds into the UTI Nifty 50 Index Fund. I have already held this fund for more than five years, so this was simply a top-up. (It does have a slightly higher expense ratio than some other index funds but the tracking error is lower) Why a domestic index fund? For the last two-plus years, I've been allocating most of my investments to gold. While gold has delivered spectacular returns during this period, the Nifty 50 has generated almost no returns over the same timeframe. I felt this was a good opportunity to buy into equities at roughly two year old price levels and rebalance my portfolio. (PS: I already hold ~20% of my portfolio in an US index since several years) PS: Bought some of the gold back today already at a lower rate than I sold it at as there were some great deals. For all those who were saying this LA song camp was decided months ago and was aligned with producers schedule, get your records straight! The LA song camp was proposed AFTER the members got discharged in June. Jin’s tour schedule was announced in APRIL and must have been planned BEFORE April. They knew Jin was on tour and JIN did not know about song camp. In documentary, JIN said he requested to move up the camp. He was stressed about how he would fit in. Yet, still they chose not to extend the camp to include him for song camp of an album comeback that happened after 4 years. Oh… so yeah, I didn’t mention this happened. Last Friday afternoon, I got a surprise invite onto Sky News - live - the morning of the mass non compliance protest against digital ID in London. Yep, I was as shocked as anyone! I said yes because it was live - less chance of them chopping it up to make me look like a nut. And honestly? It was fair. Was I nervous? Absolutely. Could you tell? Maybe. This aired at 11:20am on Sky News UK, Saturday 18th October. Do I wish I went harder on calling out Tony Blair as the WEF’s front man? Sure. Still a mini-mic drop. But hindsight’s 20-20. Not bad for someone running on a few hours’ sleep a night for weeks! Now, cue the “controlled opposition” comments - go on, you can’t resist 😅 Six years of activism, never once platformed by mainstream or even so-called “alternative” outlets… until now. If you’re wondering why Sky News suddenly wanted to talk to me - same. Maybe they realised the public’s waking up faster than they can spin it. Must’ve run out of scripted guests. 40 years ago today, Ace of Aces was released. It's probably a bit too old for some of the people who follow my account but it was certainly way ahead of its time back in 1986. Superb graphics, excellent sound effects and a story/gameplay that felt highly immersive - those are the things that I remember when first playing this as a kid. Not an easy game by any means but it got you hooked fast. I am not enough of a history buff to know whether the missions were somewhat realistic but I would like to believe so. The mission briefings and the "interactive" map during the game added to that feeling of authenticity. We used to turn up the volume for this one, especially for the intro and cutscene when the mission starts and the black and white picture slide show started, with the overlapping sound effects at the 0:30 mark - it still fascinates me to this day. That cutscene uses a total of six colours and it still looks absolutely incredible.
