Washington wildfire arson suspect Aaron Farinacci allegedly had an "obsession with fire." He also admitted to setting about 25 fires in and around his neighborhood since last year.

If he truly had an obsession with fire, he should have received treatment much earlier instead of being caught only after causing major damage.

He says fire is ‘powerful and beautiful,’ but for victims, fire means losing homes, property, and sometimes risking lives.

That’s insane. A person admits to setting 25 fires and nobody stopped him? That points to a serious failure in the system.

If the suspect really admitted to setting around 25 fires over the past year, authorities need to investigate whether there were enforcement failures and why he wasn’t stopped sooner.

Hopefully this case will lead to stronger wildfire prevention measures and better monitoring of repeat offenders to prevent similar incidents from happening again.
