Wasn’t really expecting to make a reference to the Thrawn trilogy on this episode when talking about Jesse Minter. But it happened.

I think it’s fair to question how many true blue chippers the Chargers have on defense compared to other elite units but Derwin is an All Pro player. Tuli made the Pro Bowl last year. Khalil made it the last time he was healthy and is still playing at a high level imo. Daiyan’s been inconsistent especially with some life circumstances last year but his high’s are really high. Tart, Tomlinson, Caldwell, Molden, Perryman, Still, Jackson, Hart are all really solid role players when healthy. And then you have Mesidor. You guys really think that’s an untalented defense?

I think you answered your own question with how you listed everyone off. It's a lot of solid. Lacking true needle movers.

The impression I got from listening to the conversation was that you guys thought it was a bad defensive roster though

That's the one

uh oh

Thrawn was a solid pull. Now we need the Lord of the Rings version next time you're covering chargers defense. ‘Is Jesse Minter Gandalf holding the whole fellowship together?’

That trilogy is very good, also shout out the XWing and Wraith squadron books

Fair. There was this "the chicken or the egg" thing with the defense. I am willing to give O'Leary some more time but week one was concerning. Though, I will say we had some games last year where they got chopped up as well (i.e. Jaguars, Dolphins). That will happen to the best of them of course, but I think the slightly above average talent level will get us sometime even with a mastermind.

Do we think Timothy Zahn is a Bears fans?

Mike Macdonald is Thrawn. He knows every possible outcome of every play at once. Also JusticeforThrawn. He got so nerfed on tv

This is why you are the best. Need board game references next pod.

If Minter was the Emperor, does that make O'Leary Joruus C'baoth?

You were cooking with the Star Wars talk. We need more of it tbh.

You are literally me
