Another fight broke out between Venezuelans and security guards at the plaza on 87th and Lafayette. This is an ongoing feud that has been going on for years. About 2–3 years ago, a security guard at this location shot a Venezuelan man, and if I’m not mistaken, he is currently serving prison time for the shooting.

50 Years Ago Tonight August 11, 1976 The #Jets host the #Giants in a preseason game before 35,000 at the recently-remodeled and reopened Yankee Stadium. The Jets were entrenched in a bitter, years-long lease dispute with the Mets and New York City over the use of Shea Stadium. During their 20 seasons at Shea, they never played a preseason game there. This game was played at Yankee Stadium as New Jersey's Giants Stadium was still two months away from its grand opening. The game had originally been scheduled for Monday August 9, but was moved to Wednesday the 11th due to the effects of Hurricane Belle. The Jets would host Oakland two days later, again in the Bronx, followed by Washington two weeks after — the final NFL games played at Yankee Stadium.
