Haiwawo nonsense! This paid acolyte who has sold his soul to the most corrupt politician ever to emerge in Zimbabwe! You Maponga speak big English too and have made your name through it, you bloody hypocrite! We have an absolute monarchy in Southern Africa - what does Eswatini have to show for it except Mswati’s long line of wives and concubines! Nonsense! You will not be allowed to run away from representative government by your paid promotion of some primordial power structure that never existed over all the peoples who constitute Zimbabwe today! Fuck off Maponga!

English should not be used to measure intelligent. With all his good English, Joshua Maponga has been and will remain the biggest fool in Zimbabwe.

Yet he's been against Ndebeles having their King. Not a King of Zim but a cultural leader of Ndebeles. Today here he is advocating for a King over all culturally diverse Zim. This is the problem with Zim. Anything for Ndebeles is viewed as tribalism but if for Shonas, its not.

What does it mean for other tribes especially the Ndebele tribe who already have a King 🤴?

His GD6 got destroyed in the accident. Now he is singing for a new one. If the accident was effective, it could have saved us from this nonsense. Shame that such ancient people decide the future while the younger generation is just standing aside, with no jobs and facing all the other issues affecting Zim

Essentially he is saying African shouldn't evolve to better quality of life. We must stay behind all the other races. The Arabs, Asians, Whites, Indians, South Americans etc are all moving in the same direction of quality of life but we must go back kunhembe!

If he wants a monarch then fine. We go back to tribal systems, allow the tribes to fight for territorial dominance, the winning tribe then establishes the king and subjugate the losers. We can as well go back to slave trade era. Foolish man indeed

Of course he’s talking like that. The man went from living like a madman in the bush to eating off the regime’s table, so now he sings their tune. Let’s not pretend we don’t remember. Maponga isn’t principled, he’s just deluded and bought.

There is something fundamentally wrong with Zimbabwean men. This begging and sycophantic behaviour towards people in power is absurdly comical and as it is infuriating

Two cases which were brought before the Constitutional Court of Zimbabwe challenging Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3 (CAB 3) have been struck off, NOT dismissed. CAB 3, which seeks, among other things, to extend President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s term of office and change the method of electing a president from direct election by citizens to election by Parliament, requires two referendums in law, but the ZANUPF faction sponsoring it wants to avoid a referendum. The Constitutional Court struck both cases off the roll this morning. It is important to understand that the cases were not dismissed on their merits. Rather, the Court held that the issues raised could not originate and be determined solely by the Constitutional Court and should first be ventilated in another forum, High Court. Professor Lovemore Maduku, who is arguing the cases, has indicated that they will now proceed to the High Court. Should the applicants fail to obtain the relief they seek there, the matters will inevitably return to the Constitutional Court on appeal. Many lawyers have described the Constitutional Court’s decision as an example of constitutional avoidance. In their view, the Court has declined to confront what has become a highly contentious constitutional question, preferring instead to defer consideration of the substantive issues. A central argument in the war veterans’ challenge, led by Professor Madhuku, is that Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3 was discussed and approved by Cabinet, which included President Mnangagwa, the two Vice Presidents, and Cabinet ministers. Professor Madhuku argues that because President Mnangagwa stands to benefit directly from provisions extending his term of office, he should not have participated in deliberations on the amendments. According to the argument, the Constitution prohibits public officials from participating in decisions in which they have a direct personal interest. However, the Constitutional Court did not determine the merits of that argument, ruling instead that the matter should be heard elsewhere first. The legal battle is therefore far from over. It now moves to the High Court and, whatever the outcome there, is likely to find its way back to the Constitutional Court for a final determination.
