Customs, IGI Airport, New Delhi Date: 20.10.2024 Seizure: 15.04 kg of Hydroponic Weed Value: ₹15.04 Crores On the basis of specific information, baggage of one international transit lady pax travelling from Bangkok to Paris via Delhi by flight AI-333 & AI143 on 20.10.2024 was brought to customs scanning machine. On being scanning of the checked in bag, the officers noticed/detected some narcotic substance. Thereafter, the on duty dog of Customs K9 squad was called for sniffing the baggage. The duty dog indicated presence of narcotics substance. The bags were opened in presence of the said Pax as per the procedure, wherein 15.046 kg of greenish brown substance appearing to be hydrophobic weed was recovered from the baggage. The recovered goods have been seized under NDPS Act, 1985. The passenger has been detained for further questioning and investigation is in process!

The local market value of this gold was Rs 4,26,89,325. The manner of concealment indicates that the gold was concealed by an unknown person with the intention of smuggling it into India in violation of the provisions of the Customs Act, 1962. A landmark moment for gibbon conservation in India! 🐵 A male Western Hoolock Gibbon was today recorded crossing the canopy bridges with safety nets over the railway line in Hollongapar Gibbon Sanctuary. This is the first confirmed use by a gibbon in the Sanctuary — and the first documented use of a canopy bridge structure over a railway line anywhere in the world! The bridges were designed and deployed as a mitigation measure for the electrification works on the existing single-track Lumding-Dibrugarh railway line passing through the Sanctuary, during February-March 2025. A 50-year-old biker was killed on the spot after being run over by a tipper truck at Bumbu Bazaar in Davanagere. The horrific accident was captured on a local CCTV camera. The deceased has been identified as Manjunath, a resident of Saraswati Nagar. According to police, the accident occurred when Manjunath was attempting to overtake a tractor travelling ahead of him. The passenger vehemently declined despite being made to understand the reasons why the switch had to be made. He threatened twice to slap the hostess. As a result, the pilot called in airport security, including the Air Force, to remove the passenger. He (passenger) insisted on speaking with the NCAA Consumer Protection Officers on duty, and they were brought in to deescalate the situation. The passenger was advised per the threats made and why he had to be deplaned. The pilot insisted on not flying the passenger for safety reasons. Airport security and NCAA officials have led him back to the terminal. He has understood the ramifications of his actions and has calmed down. He will be allowed to board the evening flight later today. May I reiterate that the responsibility of deescalating potential altercation rests with both cabin crew and passenger, and it is not ideal to threaten or actually hit people aboard an aircraft. If you are not satisfied with the quality of service you have received, kindly report to the NCAA Consumer Protection Department via and a resolution will be reached. Threats of violence against cabin crew are not acceptable. Let us all ensure to keep our skies safe and allow other passengers to enjoy their flying experience.
